Here is mine... Oh wait, I flipped my Explorer II for a Zenith and traded in my Porsche for a truck. What does that mean? Can I still be a member of this forum? (I am happier with the new stuff... and I still love Rolex watches...)

Nothing says luxury more than the gold bow tie... LOL.

BTW - can I say, taking a wrist shot with the steering wheel logo is not an easy thing to do.

This is a very good point. The black piano finish box that came with my Black Bay was way nicer than the standard green wave box that came with my SubC date.

Here's another one that I can't even explain myself:

The 14060 is one of my absolute favorite Rolex models, but the 16610 is my least favorite.

Like I said, it doesn't even make sense to me, but there it is.

Rolex needs a box update. The current ones feel cheap, especially given how many of their watches are over $10K. But given that they're producing around 800k watches per year, I wouldn't hold my breath for a significant quality upgrade.

Alright I'll play again. I hate food pics. Show your watch but keep the food to yourself. It's disgusting.

Those cheap little Rolex boxes are highly sought after when the watch is to be sold later on. This gives many of us a good laugh.

Really interesting to see this thread develop from opinions on the brand itself, to opinions on these forums and the way we post/behave.

I tend to like the full YG Daytona with the White Dial but won't be able to afford it for another year so I traded my Sub 116613LB which was less than a year old for the TT Daytona 116503 White Dial would people think that was an improvement or did I make a mistake

I am not a fan of all Rolex models, I love Datejusts and Submariners, however, not certain I would purchase newer or different metal versions of the same models.

Regarding the box update that so many are posting, upgrading the box would reduce Rolex profit margins, Rolex barely makes any $$$, HA!!!

I think that the whole toolwatch wordvomit has jumped the shark.

Despite the above, I think that the watches themselves are some of the most aesthetically pleasing examples of (mostly) mid century design still currently being produced (largely unchanged with small adjustments) to do what they were designed to do decades ago. The fact that many people here refuse to wear them swimming (showering, sleeping, trampolining, with certain outfits, in certain company etc.) or otherwise within the tolerances of their design is maddening. I think a lot of so-called watch people are missing out on experiencing their watches.

I caveat this by saying it is in reference to the stainless models. I think you precious metal people are crazy for a host of other reasons.

1. I think two tone Rollies are in bad taste.
2. The new over sized Rollies models are ugly.
3. I really like calling Rolexes Rollies.

I wear a two-tone.
I agree about the oversized Rolexes.
I do not agree on calling them "Rollies".

While I have never been accused of having bad taste, I have never been told I have good taste, either.
