Panama Hat

Anyone here into wearing Panama hats?
Is it worth getting an expensive one with finer weave?
Is the Cuenca weave better than Brisa weave?

I was years ago. Be cautious of seller grading. There's no official standards and the grading can be really subjective, and really deceptive.

You want to buy in person and inspect the hat closely. Pick some representative spots on the hat and count the rows per inch both horizontally and vertically. Multiply these two numbers. A good hat will be over 600. Less than 300 is crap.

Buy the highest number you can afford. Good luck!

Most importantly, never wear it with shorts and sandals.

That is funny, Expat!!
I'll try to remember that, too, when I get one to Abdullah's specs.

Here is my Montecristi hat. 780 weave count. This one was 1K.
Size is important, don't buy too big, they easily blow off.
Check out Brent Black.
