I have the new AK and I love it for the fact it is so different. The mere fact you've started this thread suggests you have doubts and it's hard to get over that with a watch imo. Get rid of it.

Thanks I will continue to wear it as I believe it would grow on me and it's pretty unique.

I pick the AK over an explorer, I think it's a great looking watch. Keep it.

I would try on all the others your considering multiple times first. If you decide to flip. It for. Something you will have done your homework. Get what you want, not what you think you should have. I wanted a 116520 black, was on the wait list for it. It came in and I didn't like it. I tried on three or four others which I liked after that disappointment. I got down to a dj2 and a subc. My salesman told me to try on the explorer, which wasn't even on my radar. It left with me. Moral of the story, get what you love!

The Air King is a fantastic looking watch and is very versatile. Also, I love the use of the Rolex colours. It's also very comfortable and has great wrist presence. Also, it shares the same case as the Milgauss so has the anti-magnetic qualities. It has to be a keeper, however like a few have already suggested, wear it for a month and see how you feel.
My only criticism of the Air King is the lack of lume. It would've been amazing if Rolex had lumed the 3, 6 & 9 markers at least. However, this is not a deal breaker. By the way, I picked one up last week. I will have more photos of it out in the wild soon as I plan to take it on holiday with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

AK has a great dial. Green & gold is awesome (and unique); arabic numbers are less common; finally I think its really cool and quite unique that they designate the seconds in between the 3-6-9 markers. The polished bezel is very attractive IMO.
I think some Rolex fans suffer from bezel envy. They want to have colors and markers and functions out there so the piece looks more Rolexy, or just appeals more to their sense of aesthetics. I like the AK, I may get one yet. |

Hi, I'd keep it for a while, e.g. min. 2 years. See how it goes. Can be an ideal sommertime beater, plus anti magnetic, dynamic fresh, young... ideal party-watch.
Don't flip it... if it doesn't grow on you, you'll see. Then flip it..... Or you can just send it to me right now I have Explorers and Milgauss. The Air-King is best of both words, but none of those. Not elegant, but sporty and maybe a bit on the heavy side, like the Milgauss, but that's good. I would beat the hell out of that one. I just want to say, it's yours, now it's time to enjoy it Have fun, post pictures. |

Explorer is more understated and AK has a little more pop with color and more dial content. Maybe buy EXP now and try both for a while and punt one of them later?

I did not like the AK when it was introduced but over time I have grown to like it. I would not do a flip to an Explorer but if you were going for a ND Sub or an Explorer II in 42 mm I would say go for it.

I have the Explorer and love the colors on the Airking dial. I tried one on and it felt a little heavy on my smaller wrist but think I might get used to it.

I like the air king but I think it would look better with with lumed numerals.
I saw a photoshop of this scenario I just thought it set it off more? |

You're asking everyone else's opinion on if we like the watch?
How does that matter to you? Get what you like - either a busier dial or not. Simple. |

Not a fan of the new Airking to be honest, the dial is far too busy for my taste. I'd flip for the Explorer without a moments thought.
