Do they taste better than they look?
In all seriousness, they look tiny. Sweet? I don't think I've ever had a wild strawberry. In fact, not many strawberries in this side of the world. |

They would need to be better than the long-refrigerated artificially-ripened half-green rubbish that comes through our supermarkets in Australia. Burned on the outside by whatever they do to them to make them go red, but sour and half-ripe inside.
Roadside stalls are the only way to get naturally ripened fruit in this country.

Later today we'll be picking these. I'll give you first shot to guess what they are as you probably don't have them either. |

They are seriously the only strawberries I like, here in the states most strawberries are conventionally grown on industrial super-farms and have zero flavor. Even the premium Driscoll Farms Organic strawberries taste sub-par compared to wild.

All kidding aside I've always felt Raspberries were a better match for cheesecake, tarter, sharper, better compliment IMHO

Picking wild strawberries? Did you have to keep looking over your shoulder for bears?

Those strawberries look amazing and are probably 10 times better than the local ones we have here in FL.
