AD in NYC area that offer 0% financing?

Anyone know of an AD in the nyc area that offer 0% financing??

I know financing is a touchy subject here but if it’s 0% then what’s the big deal?

At 0 percent nothing. People don't bat an eye at financing a car. That said my goal is best price. We all know with watches you'll never get the best price financing it, especially at a promotion rate of 0 percent.

Jus call and ask. Depends on what specials they have goin on. I don't understand what the big deal is. I have financed a total of 5 watches. (All are now paid for)
I have a great credit score.

Reach out to some ADs and ask. I'm sure the big T usually runs those promotions.

Yeah, I'm also of the mentality that if it's 0%, why not? Just make sure you have payments on auto-pay if you're even remotely forgetful. You don't want that 0% turning into 25%

I agree but people have the notion about don’t finance if you can’t afford it.

Yes, you'll get zero financing but no discount whatsoever on the watch. If you don't mind paying full retail plus tax to get zero financing then go for it!

Sometimes you can get both. My AD uses Wells Fargo Advantage which is a 0 percent 12 months credit card. To them it's same as cash so I can get a discount and 0 percent.

Paid off my DD40 in full last month but was able to start wearing it last September when only half was paid.

I'm beginning to rethink this zero % stuff. Let's say you wanted a new plat Daytona and maybe a nice Date-Just for the wife and she wanted diamond dial and the AD experience too.

Now let's say the Daytona was 57K plus 31mm Date-Just was 12k, that's 69k plus another 6 in tax so 75k total. If you left that money in the stock market over the last 12-18 months and you made 18%-20% which is pretty much what happened, that just about pays for the wife's watch.

And your paying zero interest for 18 months at the AD. This would've been gambling and speculation of course but pretty good way to go if you got lucky.

I wouldn't do it but some would

Though I would *not* recommend dealing with them, Tourneau offered what is essentially a layaway program for hard-to-get watches. This was in NY and over a decade ago but it was clearly a corporate program because my business partner and I signed up. He, later, wisely, it turned out, backed out. I didn't and paid the price for their utter incompetence and lies about ongoing support. They are a terrible terrible company.

So, in summary, if someone steers you to them for this, I'd avoid it.

True enough

The flip side is you lost 20% and you're now buying 2 DJ's.

One I'm not one to judge, but if you don't have the cash to buy a luxury item upfront, then it's a mistake. But I will play devils advocate, there are certain credit cards that have favorable 0% APR for many months by simply signing up for the card. *cough* citi simplicity & chase freedom unlimited *cough* The simplicity offers 21 months 0% APR and the freedom unlimited 15 months 0% APR. Only caveat is you need 750 credit score or higher to get it.

That being said, others are right, if you get a 0% credit from an AD they will not give you a discount on the watch. Get the credit card with 0% intro APR then head to AD and bargain for discount.

If I put borrowed money in the stock market with my luck I would end up defaulting on the loan

My local AD offered me 0% for 40 months. I told them no thanks. A credit inquiry alone will bring down your credit score, as will the percentage of debt to available credit. And who the heck wants to make 40 payments? That's a pain. I'd much rather wait until I can pay up front with zero affect on my credit.

I much prefer getting the credit card points and then paying it off the same month!

Isn't one of the credit card perks also an extra year of warrantee?

I'm going to have to disagree with most of this. I wouldn't purchase anything on credit that I couldn't pay in cash, but I'll take 0% financing all day, every day.

Given a choice of handing you money today or in 40 months? I can live with that pain.

Of course you are welcomed to disagree, but why do you disagree? Let's take it one point at a time ...

Do you agree or disagree that a 0% offer requires the retailer to pull your credit?

Do you agree or disagree that the number of new credit inquiries in the past two years negatively affects your credit score?

Do you agree or disagree that financing your watch adds to your total debt?

Do you agree or disagree that your debt to available credit ratio directly affects your credit score?

Do you agree or disagree that a lower credit score costs you money in the way of loans and percentage rates, while higher credit scores saves you money?

The impact on your credit score is minimal if your smart about your credit health.

While I typically refuse to utilize credit for a luxury purchase that I don't have the cash for some offers do make appealing for some people to obtain a piece of their "dream".

40 months at 0%?! Spend their money and not yours up front...I could see why this is appealing.

Can you tell me which AD in NYC/NJ will give you discount? I am trying to buy Rolex deepsea. I went to 3 AD and they said no discount, full price only.

Borrowing money to buy frivolous luxuries seems unwise.
