How long was the 26170 in production?

Searched the forums, but couldn't find this exact information. Just a simple question for you all, haven't been around AP that long.

So the 26470 came out in 2014. The 26170 was before that. How long were they in production? Was curious as to how long the current ROO colorways may stay before others are introduced. I'm of course expecting some special model for the 25th, but was assuming the main 26470 models will stay for a bit longer. Thanks in advance!

26170 was released in 2009 I believe

ceramic pushers and clear casebacks changed along with the colors so I would not assume AP updated the reference just to make new colors available. Since the improvements have been made there isn't as much to update the current ones unless they maybe add a ceramic bezel. I think the current 42mm's will be around for a bit longer.

Whenever they roll out an in-house chronograph, that is when i would expect a new reference number.

Not 100% sure on the release year, but, I have all the AP collection books from 2007-present... The 26170 is in my 07' and on books. Maybe 06'?

Wow, interesting. I thought they only had around a 5 year span as Tyler had mentioned.

According to Hal, in 2005 the 26170 Safari, Silver, Black, and Navy Themes were introduced.

The Panda was 2009 it appears. So now I'm super confused. Might have added other colors along the way after 2005 launch?

Correct. Seems AP started the 26170 with the 4 mentioned above.
