I'm getting tons of junk mail every day since a few days back?

I usually get 3-5 a month but since a few days back I'm receiving 50 + a day.

Anyone knows what would cause this and is there a way to rectify it?

Just mark them as SPAM in whatever email provider you have. Do not even open them. They can tell if you opened it or not in many cases. Just keep doing it and over time your SPAM filter will catch them.

Other possibility is that you have some malware. Here is a free tool that is safe. You can get malware from anywhere these days. People are sneaking it into real sites and ads.

I had a massive spike in spam about two months ago. I went from a couple a week to,about a dozen a day. What was really disappointing is that our spam filter at work wasn't picking them up. I'm now down to a couple a day.

Looks like these idiots are leaving me alone now and going after Mon instead

Recycling doesn't help forestry workers. Need to keep chopping those trees down.

Most spam in general is down to the owner of the PC who in general clicked on a link from a web site or from a spam email in his in box.So always make sure before you click any link or open any email you are 100% sure of its source.Make sure you have a up to date AV and malware program on your computer plus a good firewall.

This has happened to me a few times in the past. Maybe a coincidence, but it seemed to happen after giving my email when checking out while shopping. I have since stopped giving out my email, when checking out. Also, like someone said above, mark it as spam and that did the job to stop it.

I subscribe to Malwarebytes Premium https://www.malwarebytes.com/ and CCleaner Professional https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download too.

Both are very helpful.

Always have a designated spam email account to give sales people, websites, etc.
Mine has one letter followed by numbers. This makes it very easy to give to sales clerks by eliminating having to use the NATO alphabet.
