Yes, it gets worn as part of a collection so only occasionally. I'm a careful wearer and don't like to own watches I don't actually wear. It looks spectacular as it literally looks like a new watch. I'm a huge fan of the matte dial version of the 16750 as well.

Yes, the papers are UK papers (160) as the watch was sold by Watches of Switzerland in London. It's definitely a European box as I have other watches with the same inner and outer box. When I purchased it I was also given the original Watches of Switzerland receipt from 1988.

Mine just came back from being serviced by the NYC RSC. I purchased it new in 1986, as I recall.

I believe they may have replaced the minutiae and hour hands as they now glow in the dark. I also had them replace the Pepsi bezel insert. I passed getting a new dial. The overhaul was apparently quite extensive based on the cost. I did not receive a list of what was done. Didn’t question it, but thought it odd. |

Thanks. Yes, service was never inexpensive. I would like to have my AirKing serviced as well, which was why I passed on the dial replacement.

Well, just picked this one up a few days ago
Its an 8.58 million, 1984, with box and papers in amazing condition - to my inexperienced eyes, at least, it looks absolutely untouched, and all the dates line up My noob assessment is thus - experts please correct me It has an original non date spider dial, lovely cream patina to plots and hands (though a bugger to photograph), slightly corroded (original?) hands, a bezel thats a bugger to turn (even when pressing down, as i think its got a lot of crude under it), a very lightly stretched bracelet from may 1985 ( code I5), a GMT booklet printed June 84, certificate dated May 85 (if thats what the number (574.04.100.5.85 in the bottom right hand corner means?), and on the back of the certificate in red is TRO TX ( means sent to dealership 12th Aug 1985). I love that 90% of the time, you cant see the spider marks, and then every so often, you get a flash of it Very grateful of you opinions ( via pm is fine) Cheers paul Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Here is my latest find, 16750 from 1980. Pictures taken under different lighting conditions to show the patina, the mk2 dials seem to have a strong patina. Silver date wheel with open 6. Bracelet has no stretch. Case is sharp too
