The pale blue on the smurf doesnt light my fire. For a blue dial, I prefer the sunburst blue. I think the Pepsi GMT is iconic and for the time being, only available new in WG. I think future resale on this model will be through the roof. That said, WG is pretty much under the radar which I think is what you want. Why not save a lot of cash and buy the BLNR. The 166710LN is even more under the radar and classy enough to wear with almost anything.

The BLRO and the 619LB are both very modest watches in their appearance, the bling factor is really very low.
The glidelock is nice but once you have a good fit on the easy link it works just as good if not easier and faster. Does not matter to me. In sunshine the flat blue is the clear winner imho

I go back and forth on this constantly. Today I’d say BLNR, by a slight margin

The BLRO because....
It still looks like a GMT Master, retaining the iconic aesthetic that would be recognizable to someone from 1955 used to the original ref 6542. Not so the super-blue, cyclops/date Sub that apart from a pearl thing on the bezel looks nothing like the original. The WG GMT is a PM homage piece to the original ref, the WG blue Sub is it's own thing designed to be very different from the original. Displaying multiple time-zones is useful and the case is WR to 300'. I've never burned my steaks or gotten a parking ticket because I couldn't read the minute hand of my GMTs. Wearing a BLRO no grown-up will ever notice your watch and say "Nice (insert infantile cartoon character name here)", thus avoiding an embarrassing moment for both wearer and admirer. |

BLRO for me
Though sounds like you may need to save up for both, or you have some more thinking to do. Have you tried them out in person? |

My vote is BLRO. I’m actually looking to add one as well. I currently have the YG GMTIIC with green dial and love the weight and “warmth” of the gold. I don’t wear it as much as I would the BLRO because of the bling factor. The BLRO would be a daily wearer for me.

I've never cared for monochromatic dial/bezel combinations - the lack of contrast just doesn't create sufficient visual interest.
The BLRO is absolutely gorgeous. I wear mine every day. |

You cannot go wrong with either, they are both fantastic pieces. Personally I would go BLRO.

Sounds like you need a Hulk and BLNR combo instead of 1, but if you really want WG, imo the way to go is the Smurf.

I've owned both.
Still have the Smurf, flipped the BLRO. Both great watches, the bezel colours on the BLRO just didnt work for me over time. |

Smurf all day long. BLRO ceramic colors are too washed out and plus the price will get slammed even worse once the SS Coke comes out.

Cant go wrong with either as they are both awesome. But If talking PM blro, i’d pick the smurf. Due to the fact that you can get an SS blro and that turns me off. Also i dont like the blue dial PM blro (my ocd doesnt like that the dial blue doesnt match the bezel blue)
Smurf by a hair. Edit **** i just realized this is a zombie thread |
