My attempt just cus I wanted to give it a go. (exempt from voting of course)
Also the story contains truth, you can decide what that part is: In high school I lived in northern Wyoming and worked at a ski resort in Jackson Hole on the weekends. One weekend Rolex threw a sponsored ski day at my resort. Celebrities sighting are pretty common in Jackson Hole. The likes of Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock and many others have homes there. In fact I went to school with a pretty famous actor’s son. The day of the tournament came and Rolex gave all of us working the event hats. Pretty standard fare. Then I only knew Rolex as a status symbol and I knew the people there were people of status so I did not think anything of it. At the end of the day after the slopes “close” those of us who lived up there would take the lift for a last run of the day. I got separated from my friend and was just relaxing on a slow run down the hill. Of all things to happen: I run into Harrison Ford and his young kid. His son is clearly upset. I ask if I can help and Mr. Ford tells me his son dropped his hat somewhere up the hill and all was ok, his son was just upset. I reach up and take my hat and give it to the kid. Mr. Ford squints a little and asks if I am sure. “Of course” I answer. His son smiles and Mr. Ford follows suit. As I say “have a great day” and start to ski off the most unbelievable thing happens to me: As his son starts heading down the hill, Mr. Ford tells me to hold on. He takes off his DJ and hands it to me. I am of course in shock and ask if he is sure. He immediately pushes off down the hill and shouts: “You did great kid, just don’t get cocky!” I do cherish the watch and the memory. The hat that is being given away is almost, if not identical, to the one I gave Harrison Ford’s son and would love to have it sitting next to the watch. Thank you for your consideration. |

That is a great looking Rolex hat! It’s the first Rolex hat I’ve seen made out of nice light weight material vs cotton. I would wear it often out and about and on the golf course out here in Arizona. Love the color blue too. Cheers Matt.

'Twas the night before Baselworld, when all through the house
Not a AD was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that the elusive “Hulk” soon would be there; The grey market sellers were nestled all snug in their beds; While visions of Daytonas danced in their heads; When out on the internet there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my MacBook to see what was the matter. Away from my recliner, I flew like a flash, Tore open the credit card and even grabbed some cash. When what to my wondering eyes did appear in the sky, A price increase so enormous, tears clouded my eye, Recalling the rumor so lively with decorum, I knew in a moment he must be from The Rolex Forum. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name: "Now, Sub! now, Skydweller! now DeepSea and Hulk! But none were to be found as the GM’s had bought them in bulk! Down the chimney FlyingHunter came with a splat. As he crafted this poem, - all for a hat! His eyes, how they twinkled! wearing his new hat with style! His cheeks were like roses, his mouth with a smile! But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight— “Happy New Year to all, and to all a good night!” |

A pale, little boy dressed in faded, patched trousers, and a thread bare coat rode his old, bent, rusty tricycle to the parade route. He felt sad that his mother had to work at her second job, but his kind neighbor walked beside him. It was a bright, temperate day in the valley above which the sharp angles of mountain ridges resplendent of snow caps towered.
He pushed his way timidly to the front of the roped off street, sitting on his tricycle, waiting for the excitement of the village's floats about to begin. As the parade, with only a few entries, passed by him, he was particularly mesmerized by the most beautiful Friesan horse with flowing black mane and tail, and the very handsome man who was in the saddle, costumed so impeccably and wearing a blue Rolex hat. The little boy loved horses and dreamed of some day owning a ranch where children, of all ages, could come to get well. As the handsome man waved at the little boy, something shiny fell off the man's coat. At first, the little boy thought it was a candy wrapped in foil, but after the parade passed, he picked it up. When he peddled his way home, his mother was waiting for him, and he showed her the object he found, she said they must find the owner of the shiny item to return it. As days and months went by, despite the mother's inquiries, no one could find the man on the horse, as he was not registered as an entry in the parade, and had just appeared at the last minute riding his magnificent steed. Years passed, and the little boy became a young man. He wondered about the man in the blue Rolex hat. Who was he? Where was he? He would examine his shiny object frequently. It became his 'good luck' token, and he felt a deep warmth whenever he touched it. As he pondered how he would ever make his way in the world, and fulfill his dream of having horses, and helping children, he felt that it would take a miracle to accomplish his dream. On his 18th birthday, he walked down to the street corner where he had years earlier watched the best town parade he could ever remember. As usual, he had his lucky, shiny token with him. As his fingers held it, he decided that he wasn't going to wait any longer to find the man in the Rolex hat. He went home, and took it apart. Lo and behold, inside was a tiny photo of a lovely lady, and on the reverse was scripted: Love, FFM(i). He couldn't believe it. He rushed to the library to research the name. He was overjoyed when, after talking with the ever so knowledgeable librarian, that there was only one person in the world with that name. He now knew he would find the owner of his shiny object. He washed cars, mowed lawns, helped senior citizens with repairs to their houses, anything to make enough money to make the long trip to Geneva, Switzerland, which is where the librarian said the owner resided. When he arrived at the address in Geneva, he couldn't believe his eyes. What a vision the building was. He felt humbled walking through the massive, ornate doors, and into the spell binding foyer decorated with walls of time pieces. He showed the receptionist his shiny object and photo. She became very excited, and immediately made a phone call. A handsome young man appeared, and invited the young man into the board room where many well suited gentlemen and ladies, all wearing blue Rolex caps, lined the long conference table. The young man relinquished his shiny object: a prized watch from 1909, that was an only model made that year, apparently, as it was revealed by the attorney at the table. The next thing that happened changed his life! The estate of the handsome man on the horse, years ago at the parade, had defined that whoever found the shiny object with the photo of Florence Frances May, would receive a scholarship to medical school, as well as a grand sum of $10,000,000, and a NEW ROLEX WATCH every year that would be the annual showpiece at BASIL. So directed by: Founder: Mr. HW(i) The young man went to medical school, became a pediatrician and founded the best wellness center for sick children in the center of the most beautiful horse, therapy establishment for children, and became a most endeared, pledged member of The Rolex Forum, affectionately called "TRF", vowing that anyone who PM'd him, would immediately receive a blue Rolex cap in memory of his renowned benefactor: Mr HW(i). And everywhere he went, he wore a blue Rolex cap, that became his trademark, even when he was with his little patients, who also, on their first medical visit, received a blue Rolex cap. It was a beautiful scene, whenever anyone arrived at the children's wellness center and the horse therapy ranch, there were blue Rolex caps visible on everyone's head!. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The above is fabrication, using some historical information(i), and the story should only be considered as 'fun' from imagination, with all due recognition, respect and admiration for the famous individuals so referred to, with no copyright or patent infringements or infractions intended.

Grateful for the kind words. I'm a new member here and purchased my first ever Rolex from a trusted seller on TRF less than 2 weeks ago. I formed this poem after only one good cup of coffee and usually I'm of little value until a second cup. The poem is actually a light hearted reflection of the incredible amount of education I received from TRF before making my first purchase. I'm truly grateful for guidance I gathered here. Cheers and good health to all for 2018.

I have not gone bald yet, but I have a small head so if I do it will be tragic. I’ll need a hat. That being said, maybe one of those visors with the hair attached would be a better fit for me...
