That brings back some fond memories. I need to dig out my dry suit and speargun and go fishing.

You're welcome to do it here A.

By the time you get here I'll have a hole cut in the ice for you.

I went ice dive/fishing on a frozen lake in the northern Rockies about ten years ago. It was about 20 below zero (F) and we drove our trucks out on the ice to get to the spot. The ice was 3 feet thick, covered with snow, and the sunlight underwater was barely a dim glow. We used underwater lights to find the fish in about 50 feet of water. The catfish were sitting ducks and we shot plenty (nothing is better eating than catfish caught in cold water, except maybe hot cocoa after you climb out of the ice hole).

The dive team stayed sober most of the day, but once the grill was lit the whiskey started flowing fast. Divers, bone chilling cold, a hot grill, and liquor... life doesn’t get any better than that.

You better hurry A as it's packing up fast.

There's a bridge about 1/4 mile downstream where it narrows and there most likely is a blockage there.

And no, I'm not leaving the warmth inside to go finding out.

Well then, let’s wait until we can drive on it.

It will be in about a week and then I can get one of my favorites......smoked eel.

My trusted fisherman will go out, drill a hole and catch them and then flat smoke them before delivery.
