Has anybody removed there cyclops ?

Maybe tried fitting a SD4k Crystal ? ok I realise one case size is 43 the other is 40 but the tech in St James suggested it may actually be the same size just the case is larger .

You can buy a correct size generic cyclops for less than $5 but I think most, if not all, of the generic ones are mineral glass instead of sapphire. I did this with an extra 16800 crystal. Took more then a few days though.

I think the sizes are really similar, why not give it a go and see? Can they source you the crystal?

Cyclops can be removed be heating the cyclops once it is removed from the watch. The heat will loosen the glue.

I believe there is a coat in the crystal that when you remove the cyclops it wil show. So it is not as simple as removing.

I also prefer the SD without it

Cyclops nicely fills in the right side of the dial for more balance. I wouldn't change a thing (except me not having one). :-)
