I went with the Silver dial for the way it looks with the WG bezel. If I didn’t already have a Bluesy, the decision between a Silver and Blue dial would have been a little tougher.

As I write this, I'm wearing my 41mm, silver dial, fluted bezel DJ.
Agonised for a long time over whether to go for the blue but decided that silver was more classic (as opposed to the more modern blue). |

I'm shocked that the white dial is so unpopular in this model. Pretty much all my other watches are black dial except the Exp2 Polar 42mm. I have been wanting to add a white dial watch to my collection of sport watches. It was supposed to be the Daytona-C in white, but that's taken over two years now at this point and still don't have access to one at what I deem a reasonable price. So, I thought maybe a white dial DJ42 would be it since I think that the white dial pops, yet looks classic. However, I feel myself getting jedi mind-tricked and swayed into the blue dial because the majority seems to prefer this one, but I just don't want another dark dialed watch? I need to figure which to get blue, white, or maybe even silver dial?

Rhodium, fluted, jubilee. It’s my everyday watch, goes with literally everything. I thought I was going blue when I started looking but the rhodium is more diverse as an everyday watch. Also, fluted/jubilee is the only combo I’d get on the 126334, instant classic IMO.

I voted white dial but with smooth bezel and Romans on an oyster bracelet.
When will this be available Rolex? This one but in 41mm.

I'm a big fan of the Wimbledon dial. I see a number of people here like and own that one too. I think it looks great in either SS or TT. Otherwise my choice would be the blue or rhodium dial. It's about a toss up for me between the two with the blue getting a slight edge. That blue really looks sharp when the light hits it just right!

Fluted over smooth. Other than that, you can’t go wrong with any of these options. Dial color is personal preference and based on how you intend to wear it.
I like the blackndial, but everyone has a black dial. Not only that, if you have other watches in your collection, chances are they have a black dial. If so, I’d eliminate black from this list. I really like the rhodium because it really looks nice with everything. But I’ve had a recent fondness for the white dial lately also too. You can go crazy trying to pick a dial color. |

A couple of months back, I would have been in the blue or rhodium camp...but spending a bit more time looking at the silver dial, I think it’s massively underrated OP, you have some great inputs here. In my opinion, this is one of those watches (dials) that you think you like but when you put it on, it just doesn’t live up to the hype. |

Datejust 41mm but which dial?
I went with rhodium. I used to have black but the sunburst almost looked brownish grey in some lights. I didn’t like it and I love black dials and I love sunburst. The other thing is that with black I was always cleaning the glass and it looked smudgy all of the time. I have no idea how it always had prints or how it was always greasy every time I looked at it. With the rhodium dial it has no issues. As much as I love the blue I couldn’t see it dressed up with a black suite or black dress clothes. I went with the rhodium because it matches everything. That being said I got the diamond dial and on a lot of lighting conditions I can’t tell the time for crap. It looks beautiful but it’s very difficult to read. So unless your eyes are sharp I wouldn’t go with my dial. Might be different with sticks. In my line of work I use the date function more then the time function as I write a lot of checks and sign and date a lot of papers. If I had to do it all over again I guess I would get the blue/rhodium stick dial. Smooth on jubilee and just get a nice dress watch on a crock band for dressing up.
And the DJ41 wears much smaller then the DJll as you can see in pics. I love the larger feel the DJ41 looked like a 36 on me imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
