Watch manufacturers v Grey Market
Interesting article:

Watch manufacturers v Grey Market
Lengthy, but I agree that such a strategy has many benefits. Rolex should consider this idea.
Brand integrity in the secondary market, plus pull-through sales via the RSCs (to bring the preowned watch up to standards), are two benefits to them. Customers benefit when a supply/demand imbalance occurs and new models aren’t available. Plus it guarantees the buyer an authentic Rolex that hasn’t been stolen. Besides the watch brands mentioned in the arricle, Apple has been successfully selling reconditioned models of their popular products for years. So it can be done directly for ADs who input a certified watch s/n via the Rolex website. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Maybe Rolex will go this route with AD's to make up for the shortage of SS models.
