Today is my 40th and still no Daytona :(
Well today is the big day, and I never received my SS Daytona from my AD. I went on their wait list back in 2016, when the new model debuted. I got a call last July from my AD, telling me that I was next up. I thought for sure by today, I would have it in my possession. Well, maybe it will come for my 40th year instead of the day. Keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe this is a blessing in the sky and something from Basel will come out this year and I will want that in stead. But it better be something COOL! As I was not that impressed with the models from the 2017 Basel world.........

Pay the premium. Or buy a PM model...life's too short.

Happy 40th! I bet it's cold in Sac, I used to live in Rocklin. Hope you get that call soon or something at Basel comes up!

Good thinking! And good luck. I too have been waiting since Basel 216 announcement at my two ADs. Not even sure what position I am in line. Definitely don’t want to pay the premium as I’ll never do that. Instead I’ll just enjoy the models I already own (blnr, SubC, dblue, speedy, Tudor bronze and a couple of Tag Monaco’s) and wait for a call in the near future.

To be on the "list", do you have to pay for the watch in advance?

Agreed. It's just money

Happy Birthday I hope you have a great day.
It was a good idea to get your name down in plenty of time so that the Daytona may just be here for your 50th :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

YOLO good, Sir! I say GO to the AD and give the birthday guilt trip. That way if they don't have it, you've got a nice little bargaining chip for a potential discount on a better watch! Lol given they have something in the cases. It seems that steel is now THE rarest, most precious metal in the Rolex world. WOOOF.
Or go for a Trusted Seller! Happy birthday and good luck

I've had two; nice watch but not remotely worth all the fuss. It's actually a superbly marketed but essentially ordinary luxury watch. Nice if you can get one without fuss, but not something to actively 'miss,' .
