collect a bunch of losing lotto tickets. travel back in time, sell them to unsuspecting fools for thousands of dollars each, claiming you're from the future and those are winning tickets (they'll see the dates on the tickets and believe you). Conversely you could use your time machine to actually win the lottery, but where's the fun in that.

If you think about it, there's just as much chance that the winning powerball numbers will be 1-2-3-4-5-6 as any other combination. Kind of puts your chances in perspective. I doubt anyone would ever pick those as the winning numbers.

As infinitesimal of having the winning numbers one's chance may be, the chance of sharing a prize is increased by selecting numbers over random picks.
