I'm only giving the author 6/10 for omitting two very important Black Bay Special Edition models in his article

All these editions for shops or forums are fun but if they are not in the Rolex catalog I don't think they are that important. The Harrods and Bucherer are nice, so are 3 others made for forums. But to be honest, I don't care that much about these special editions.

Oh , I'm not interested in the catalog, that's easy. 0n the contrary, Tudor Harrods Kermit and the Bronze Blue Bucherer editions are difficult to get your hands on and that appeals to serious watch collectors , make no mistake, these super fun luxury wrist candies possess bragging rights and they're only going to appreciate in value over the years. Why don't you check out the latest market prices on Chrono24? The author should have at least made a passing comment

Read it yesterday. This article reads like nothing but marketing copy, and poorly-written marketing copy at that.

I need to stay focused and get that Explorer I so I finally have that proper formal wear watch (proper enough for me..I get that it's a sports watch) and then start getting the more fun pieces. |

Didn’t know they made those in green. More affordable alternative to Kermit? Yes please.

Nice write up. But every time I see that the bronze has drilled lugs and mine does not, I get mad.

Anybody else think that Tudor is catering to vintage Rolex crowd that lives on a budget?
This watch looks like a vintage GMT and that BB58, don’t get me started.

I liked the article and have no issue with them leaving out the non-standard versions as they really aren't marketed by Tudor.
Who's paying that much for a Tudor? More like a third of that for me. |

It makes sense for them as a marketing strategy, to keep customer's interest alive, but as a collector it sucks not being able to buy that one perfect watch and be done. |

Is that like saying Patek and Lange make budget entry level watches for people that dont have the budget for the real Lange and Patek Perpetuals?

It's true that Tudor independently did not release the limited editions and the Harrods Kermit is not a feature in their catalogue but the numbered edition 1-100 for the Tudor BB x Harrods collaboration were completely sold out like hot cakes, demand was beyond their wildest expectations.Apparently sources from another forum mentioned that the initial strategy was to only produce 100 per year but then the world's most famous luxury departmental store decided to add another 75 numbered editions this year making it a total of 175. However, recently a numbered edition 221 suddenly popped up on another forum so now I think the production run will level off at 250 for the moment but please don't quote me on this 0ne (only speculating here) What if Tudor decides to do a special edition BB Fifty Eight collaboration with Tiffany & Co , can you imagine the pandamonium that will reign and the effects of the aftershocks ?? All hell breaking lose in New York City ? |
