My buddy said my sub was pedantic

Relative to his Kermit. Lol

No hate lol...

Had lunch with my buddy. He let me try on his AP... didn’t like it felt kinda flimsy. Another buddy had a panerai base logo white... that caught my eye. I didn’t think I would like it. But looked good.... and it’s sub $4 k new.

Pedantic

I'm probably one of the dumbest people on TRF. I'll have to look that word up.

Pedantic
Your buddy doesn't know what "pedantic" means.

Pedantic
It is possible your buddy was compensating for Rolex envy. I have heard that an AP, nice as it is, is not a cure.

Be compassionate and understanding as it is a common ailment.

But Rolex does!!! And their attention to detail is why the sub is ICONIC. Perhaps that is what the buddy should have said.

Let the poster’s buddy knows what it means because he clearly has no idea.

Pedantic? Would it have been, um, pedantic of you to explain to him what pedantic means?

Watches can’t walk silly. They have hands, not feet.

They don't have a mouth either, but they can sing.

Yeah I think he meant to say pedestrian... still funny either way. That said though he said he will no longer buy any other watches other than Rolex or Patek. I think he regrets his AP.

:)

Pedantic lol

A buddy once said he'd love to know many languages and be a troglodyte. He meant polyglot.

Did you tell him he could spare himself years of study just by accepting himself as he is?

Most of us buy Rolexs for perfection - look at all the guys stressing over issues only visible with loops. And, the most “perfect” of the Rolexs in terms of legend and recognition is the Sub. Your buddy apparently gets excited over brightly colored watches with exposed bolts and flat head screws. But yes the Sub is pedantic - in the best sense of the word.

Perhaps it was an age-ist comment, and he meant pediatric!
Maybe he thought the watch was too young for you.

Whatever, ignore it all, sometimes jealousy is hard to control.
