Those that disliked chronographs, did Daytona change your mind?

I have the Speedy Co-axial and the D500. However, I am wearing the Submariner 24/7 so I will reduce the collection in the future and sell of all chronographs.

I've a couple of Speedmasters / G Shocks yet rarely use the Chronograph functions EXCEPT the time many years ago during weekends, I would cheekily use the chrono to measure the elapsed time taken for the boring priest to deliver his sermons at the Sunday Mass. I don't dislike, don't need a Daytona but the Chrono function is sweet, so much fun to play with at the right place, at the right time Didn't Pope Francis remind priests to keep speeches brief not more than 10 minutes ?

Similarly, I don’t like Omega’s iterations of GMT watches. For me, the only choice of a GMT is Rolex.

Love the Speedmaster 9300 it’s a beautiful watch and a great size. I have five variations of this watch and all different and unique. Yes I’ll admit Omega makes too many variations but I like most of them.

Always found the Daytona, too busy, or any multi dial face for that matter.
I wonder what percentage of chronograph owners have actually used the stopwatch function, apart from the first few days of ownership, that is.

Having said that the Daytona is a beautiful piece of kit, and has been a design icon for many years.
Too many knobs and dials for me though.

i actually love chronographs (have 2) but i can't say that the daytona is amazing compared to others design wise. It's an iconic watch though, just like the speedmaster

My wife and I are not fans. I did actually use it at Le Mans but with the speed of cars, it really is a bit of an outdated tool next to an I-phone, at least I tried. For wife it is purely about the look, I am a car guy.

An idea. Buy a fake one for USD 100, wear it for a week, and then think about to buy a real one or not....

Well, first off, I think there's a huge difference between hating chronographs and not really a chrono guy. If you're in the former category, then I think you just don't want to go down this road.

Now, not being a chrono guy, I can relate. I'm not either. But, the Daytona is such a great watch, I think it's worthy of our consideration. Looks, rock solid movement, robust-ness, it's got it all.

If I had to trim the collection, it would probably be one of the first to go. But, all in all, if you're in the latter category, it's definitely worth a shot.

I like chronographs, but the prices of Patek, Daytona or ALS are too much.
I'd probably go with the Speedy, Tudor or a Navitimer.

Gray side of the moon is the most i'd spend on a chrono.

I've never "disliked" chronographs, I did, and still do find the complication pretty useless to me however. That said, yes, the daytona did kind of sway me. It might be my favorite watch now. I even Added a speedy tuesday recently, but the love started with the daytona.

Love chronos - my favorite “type” of watch. Mostly the aesthetic of the registers look and pushers. You’ll never know unless you date one
