Just a side note: in some cases Red / Rose gold is *not* subtle. In fact, it's more of an attention grabber than yellow gold.

Case in point, my rose gold ring. I bought this ring because the rose gold looked really cool and was rather unique at the time. (Mid 1980s) It's not a huge ring and doesn't have any stones. But subtle? It's about as subtle as a sledge hammer.

Every time, and I mean *every single time* I wear my ring, someone remarks on it. Always complimentary but I dislike being the center of attention even if it's for a few seconds. That's just me but I wouldn't have purchased it had I known. YMMV.

You have a large watch, trimmed with highlights of rose gold and manufactured by the world renowned luxury watch maker Rolex. That sounds like a recipe for comments if I ever heard one. Time will tell if you get comments and rest assured, people will be complementary, but it won't fly under the radar. And, it shouldn't it's a sublime piece. I guess just be aware of your surroundings and keep a few long sleeved shirts handy.

Enjoy your new watch and thanks for posting pix. My AD hasn't even seen one in person yet.

Best,
Mark

Thanks for your post.

I think I may have come across as wanting the piece to be subtle. That wasn't my intention. I have no problem with its bling. Hell, I have no problem walking around with my full gold sub or AP's. What I was trying to say is, this piece is so sublimely attention grabbing, yet so very cool and subtle. Its not yellow gold, its not pink. Its just, perfect. Its so different that when you look down at it, you say....."wow. Thats different".

Theres much that makes it different, things that don't translate in pictures. The rose gold use in the minute plots, the hands, etc....They don't translate until you have one on. Then they hit you VERY often. Its really, really different than yellow.

In a most unique way.

Really, a home run.

Totally agree it's perfect with jeans and a t-shirt.
Hey, you know, its a Florida thing.

Ironically, we spend multiple weeks every summer in the bahamas, and no one wears tommy bahama there.

I've been duped.

I'm just a nice guy and a great customer.

I think being a nice guy and being pleasant is over half the battle in life.

I also threatened to firebomb his car, but I don't think that had much to do with it. ( i'm kidding. Just threatened to slash his tires)

Not interested in toning it down! I have other quieter options..

I was just saying, this watch likes to be the star of the show. Competing with it clothes-wise is relatively futile.

I'm starting to sound like a chick.

Anyone want to talk hockey?

Rose gold, at least Rolex' version has always intrigued me. But, I can tell you this. And this is just me...

When i was buying my DD40, I initially was drawn to the rose gold/green dial. I was sure i'd love it. But the moment I put it on, I was like....nope. Wayyy too much rose for me. Same for the rose gold solid GMT.

The reason this works so well, is its not overused. Very strategic. Well done.

And as far as comparing this to the two tone yellow GMT II? Which I am NOT a fan of ( though I know many are. Ditto for the Black/Yellow sub)

The thing that makes this better to me? The bezel number color. The rose gold tones of the numbers are FAR less blaring. They don't take away from the dial. They just blend.

Interesting! I'm between getting this TT or the DD40 with rose/green dial. Great insight.

I love this description of you wearing it! It gives a good idea of how one might interpret the wrist presence of this watch.

Conversely, my concern is that it might be too subtle. I am looking forward to seeing it in the metal and have my name down for one. I own a 116713 and absolutely love its unapologetic ‘look at me, am I not gorgeous’ presence on the wrist.

Great pics, amazing watch! Congrats on getting it so quickly! I‘m strongly considering the two-tone CHNR myself. Would be my first GMT. Before Basel, I was dead set on a BLNR - but the CHNR changed that. Can‘t wait to see it in person.

Looks sharp. I think those tones looks much better and less brash then a YGTT

Such a great looking watch, and I (like many others) don't even care for TT. If my AD happens to get one of these in, I can see myself buying it.
