What watch to present my father?
Hi Everyone. So I see there's a lot of different users on this forum with a lot of different watches and I've also been inspired by some very touching stories (esp Peter`s). I have very limited experience with many brands and want to buy a nice watch for my father, my budget is in the $15000/£10000 .
His story; I want to give it to him for his birthday, 75 years. He is self made , from 13 he owned a book shop in a tent. Put himself through school and college. He has achieved much and today he has provided enough for generations to come. What he likes; I want a light simple watch, most information my father would seek from a watch would be the date other than the time. He would prefer leather strap. He would prefer a light and slim watch. Not too fussed about Gold/Steel/Ceramic or composite.Subtle , classy and simple look. So some watch to celebrate his life. One watch that caught my eye is Jules Audemars Ultra Thin. Any other suggestions?? |

I would suggest looking at Jaeger Le Coutre calenders (perpetual is very very nice)
Or something else in white gold with leather such as a Datejust 36 or a day-date 36 Last but not least: a royal oak on leather (in whichever form)! Good luck!

This.
I'm sure he'll be moved and appreciate the gesture, whatever path you choose, but by the time a man reaches 75, his taste in things is pretty well formed. If your hope is that he truly enjoys wearing it, then it should be something he genuinely fancies.

A beautiful two-tone DateJust, with a very nice leather strap and Rolex deployant buckle combo would be an excellent combo. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
