What 911 specifically? I think if you say 997 GTS or turbo S then 911 BUT if it’s a 991 4S or Carrera then go F car all day even though the f430 wouldn’t make this a convo. The 360 has its merits.

Can’t vote until I know the exact 911 but as it stands Ferrari.

911 all day over the F360 in my opinion.

Its a 2013 and by that time Ferrari ceased gated shifters many years back. I do want to try a Ferrari someday though in the near future...

I think that's one of the best reasons to pickup an older Ferrari is for that gated shifter experience - no matter the model of the car.

Agreed...gated shifter is a plus in my opinion :)

I’d say the fun part is test drive the heck out of them. I mean how are you really going to know unless you drive them. Yes you’ll get a lot of gruff, salespeople saying they don’t want to put miles blah blah blah...

Flash some Rolex gold.

2015 GTS. One of the last NA Porsche’s and the sound is way better to me than the 991.2

That is beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Not sure but I’ve seen some mid-2000 turbos that look really nice. I like the 430, and I believe a bit more technologically advanced than the 360, but a very similar look (bulkier/more muscular in a few spots) but the silhouette of the 360 is butter ...IMO

Have you driven them yet? I'd take a late model 911 over a 360. I think you'll find that while the 360 exterior still looks decent, the interior and power is very outdated. Even the 430 felt very slow. The trans on the 911 will also feel night and day better, whether you compare manual to manual or their computer controlled clutch versions.

Ferrari 430 or Gallardo in the $150 range, at $100, GTS or pre-owned Turbo S or clean 997 GT3.

I’m looking into a 430, and will set probably aside $15-20 for service and maintenance.

Hey Richard, I have had the luck and fortitude to own both the German supercar, Mercedes SLS and a Ferrari. No, the SLS is not a Porsche, but German engineering at the top of the list. I can tell you, from living both dreams, that nothing, I mean nothing compares to a Ferrari. These cars are brought to life to give the driver/owner an ultimate experience everytime he turns the key and drives away. I am thrilled everytime and Ferrari’s goal is to hit on every emotion every day. It’s not a daily driver but they really are not supposed to be. Have fun choosing, but my real world experience is telling you to get the F car.

Porsche is a drivers car. Ferrari is a status symbol. I love the 911. To me it’s the greatest car ever made and it’s more inexpensive to buy, own and maintain then just about any true sports car out there. If you enjoy having a true piece of driving history and pure thrill, buy a Porsche. If you want a status symbol buy a Ferrari

If you can say practical with these two car it is the Porsche but for that bang, it is the Ferrari. The 911 does not turn my head, the Ferrari does.

Hmmm... some say you should own a Ferrari at least once in life. The 360 is a nice, well-know design too. She makes all the right sounds, etc. being NA. You can always get a 911 at some point in the future.

What? Ferrari is only a status symbol? You obviously have never driven one. A drivers car is a ferrari, and no way the porshce would compare. And as far as driving history, I think you have it backwards. Ferrari is the meca of driving history and thrill. It's not solely a status symbol, sorry.

Actually no you have it backwards. I have driven both. The Ferrari 430 I drove was nice, fast, visceral and about 3 times more expensive then the 911 I owned. There is no way that it’s that much better in any way. Your paying for the name. The 911 is probably as fast as the 430 on the track (or close) so yea the Ferrari is a status symbol to an extent. Sure they make some amazing cars but those are the F40 and F50 and FKK etc etc. Those arent a 340 or 430. Don’t get me wrong, Ferrari is a fantastic car but I would never pay the prices when a 911 will do as much for a fraction of the cost and to me is so much more fun

F430 over either by a mile, with the exception of a GT3 or other special 911. If you can’t afford to buy the F430 you can’t afford to own and maintain a 360 correctly. I’ve been selling Ferrari’s for nearly 20 years and own both.

Curious...Why the 430 over the 360? Just the technological advances? speed/power? Maintenance?

I'll take a Ferarri over a Porsche anyday, EXCEPT for a 360. A 360 is one of those Ferarri that doesn't age well in my opinion :). I don't even give it a second glance.

Now, you should get a Ferarri 488 :) or a vintage Ferarri with your 6263. Don't ruin your beautiful 6263 by driving a 360 :)

Otherwise, I rather buy a 4S, GTS, or GT3.

This for sure.

If you were going to entertain an f430 I’d have a much harder time deciding. Otherwise get a 991 with a NA motor and sports exhaust.

For the car guys/gals......what would you pick?

Forget any prejudices you have about Ferrari and the showboat reputation, take a 458 out on a track for an hour and you will admire that brand for life, behind the hype is a superb product, especially the modern cars, like the 458, they are some of the best cars ever made - and I say that as a ‘Mercedes guy’!

I had a F430 Spider a number of years ago as well as a 911 turbo and they are absolutely great fun, the Ferrari more noise and show off than the Porsche but both equally fantastic to own. So I’d go for whichever is more exciting to you - as they say, just do it. Want a sensible option then buy a CPO BMW 3 series. These are meant to be exciting cars and are both expensive vehicles to run so make sure it’s the one you really want or don’t bother.

F430 has chain driven cams so no timing belt service like a 360. Almost 90bhp more, and big bump in torque. Much faster F1 gearchange and stiffer chassis. F430 is a fantastic package with no significant problem areas and strong as tanks. Newer examples can still be purchased with Ferrari CPO warranty. The 360 was a huge step for Ferrari and an excellent sports car, but now pushing twenty years of age and finding a truly excellent car today is a needle in a haystack.

Buying a 20 year old Ferrari because it’s around the same price as a 2 year old 911 or new M4 usually ends badly if you can’t comfortably afford the inevitable costs related to owning an older exotic.

Man love the G. The body line is so sexy. I ended up with 2nd gen r8 cause I’m huge on tech.

[edit] omgg it’s a gated G!! Keeper. I would be afraid to pack the miles on

To OP, the 360 haven’t aged well imo. I would go 430, 911 before the 360.

Ferrari not a drivers car lOl - please don’t say that solely as an owner. You only have the right to make that claim if you have logged tons of track time in both.

With that nonsense out of the way listen to the man above who sells em he has some strong points. As I said earlier if it’s a 997 turbos or GTS I take 911 if not I’d take 360 BUT I would take 430 over every 991 sans gt2/gt3rs from a purely driving perspective.

It's still a matter of taste.
I like the sound of hindle exhaust. Someone else might prefer leo Vince or akrapovic.

Again, some people prefer twins, I prefer inline four. It's not just the looks...
