How do you feel about...
Putting 16610LV hands on my 14060M?
The thinness of the minute hand is the only thing I wish was different on the watch. Anyone done this? I think it would make for a unique mod. subject in question: |

I think I've seen some owners put black bezels on their Kermit Subs.
I don't think I've ever seen what you propose. It could work, I think.

I prefer the balance of the thin hands with the smaller plots. I never really liked large minute with small hour hands.
Now... 16610LV with a flat-four black bezel insert and Sub crystal to delete the cyclops... that might get my vote. |

Guess the first question is will the LV hands fit?

If you're considering that mod, perhaps change the dial as well while you're at it. A classic 14060 with maxi dial and hands would look cool, imo.

He’ll make it matte too! I’d naturally keep all original parts and only use oem parts for the mods. This will only happen if Rikki would do the swap. |

The dial of the 14060 is smaller than the 16610, so your probably out of options for any maxi dial mod for the 14060. And having said that; maybe a 16610LV handset would look unbalanced on a 14060's smaller dial...

Same goes for the hands. I believe 16610LV hands would fit the movement no problem but would look unbalanced with the original 14060 dial. |

What you need is a 114060 with matte bezel mod. |

After equal time with both Subs (114060/14060) my decision is reinforced even more so. My take now is that the 14060M is the more wearable watch. I just can’t get past the bezel and case on the 114060. Plus how can I live without drilled lugs as I love changing it up. |

I think you made the right choice. The 114060 is a great watch but the 14060 is undeniably excellent in its own right. Drilled lugs are as 'tool watch' as it gets. |

It would look great. A maxi dial on a 14060m would be even better.

14060M, especially a two-liner, is about as perfect a Sub you can get IMO. I'd leave it be.

Hi op.
Have a look in the modified watch thread. This mod might be in it.

I think you have finally lost the plot Finzy.
Eventually it had to happen.

Not for me. Why mess your perfect watch. If you like the hands so much ultimately sell your 14060 and get a 16610LV. Besides I think the wide hands will look out place in that non-maxi dial. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

I've done something similar. I have a 16610 with 116610 dial and dssd hands.
The combination of maxi markers and fat lume all in chromalight is killer!

If a 116610 dial will fit on a 16610, wouldn’t a 114060 dial fit as well? Can the date complication be removed?
I could source a holes case 16610, get 114060 dial/hands installed and then have a 5 digit maxi ND with better lume. Does the ceramic bracelet fit the 16610’s? The gears are turning...: |
