My first luxury watch journey

Sometimes ago, I decided to get myself a first luxury time piece. I started to researching to find the right watch for me and it leads me to TRF where I learned a lots here about this beautiful hobby

I finally found my dream watch and would like to take her home but understand she’s not easy to get without pay premium.

I started to contact all my local AD, got refuse to put on waiting list from 3 ADs but the last AD agree to put me on the list. So I process with the unknow when and even if I can ever get it.

I came back to that AD 3 weeks later just to have conversation with the saleman and express my interest again. He suggested me to put in down payment to be first on the list and that deposit is totally refundable. I agreed to do so.
Learning from a lot of stories here about building relationship with TD, i re-visited 3 weeks later, they got a rose gold daytona and Cellini have me try on and we have good conversation about watch.

2 days later I got the call from them and it’s the day.

I surprise to see it’s not too bad on the waiting for me or may be because I am lucky.

Here is she

Thank you TRF and members for all the pics and info to help me pick my first Rolex GMT Master 2 , root beer 126711CHNR

Very nice! I’ve never even seen a GMT at my local AD.

Wear it and enjoy it. Many congrats from a fellow Californian.
