Hello and thank you..

I’m a total newbie regarding watches and I recently bought a 1952
Oyster Precision Date ( red date ) ref 6094. I sorta bought this watch in a backwards manner; only after buying in C24 ( for $2100) did I actually spend hours researching blogs/ threads etc on this type of watch. The case is def etched with
“6094” between the lugs and at the six o clock lugs the number looks like
“ 879557”. The case back is stamped
“ IV.52. Under the 6094 which is clearly visable.
The movement seems to be a 740/45 based on pics I’ve seen of other watches - but I’m not sure if this. There’s also a serial # on the movement
“38571”. The dial was def refinished but the AD maintains the
Hands, twin lock crown , movement and case are all original to the watch ... I really like the watch - and won’t be bummed out completely; but I wanted this forums esteemed feedback - if it’s some sort of Frankenwatch ...I just want to learn more about this type of vintage watch. Thank you all for your input!

I don't know enough about these but the dial does appear repainted.

Decent looking considering, not a high value piece. Personally I would pass for $2100 and get a nicer Datejust or 34mm auto - they can be had for same dollar and have correct dial. Just my opnion

My pleasure - I would personally would look for a later date with auto and original dial (waffle dial ; ) )
