Don’t know lil Wayne and I think Kanye is a huge asshole with no talent.

Isn’t lil a girls name?

If they are on Apple Music I will entertain Wayne but I have very low expectations. Kanye is dead to me.

Great, as look fwd to them arguing over who sold the most albums / songs... It IS the entertainment biz after all LOL!

Nicki had her moment is the spotlight after being Prince'd by a smarter guy who gave away his album with concert ticket sales.

I am torn with Kanye. He is an asshole and I hate the kardashians, but I’ve always enjoyed his music and I like his shoes lmao.

I thought Ye was a solid album.

Neither for me. Cannot even wear Yeezys which are so cool but the association with KW kills it for me.

I can’t do it Wes. I won’t wear yeezy either just because I don’t want to be associated with him. He’s completely insane. At this point I have more respect for his wife.

Graduation is one of the greatest hip hop albums of my lifetime but that’s about all I can say anymore. He should go back to producing.

He hasn't written anything himself in a while. He's a performer now, not the genius he once was. He should give that up and stick to producing. He still has that magic.

I read somewhere that yeezy is getting close to biting the dust. May be a collector opportunity for those into sneakers.

He HAS been medically diagnosed as crazy.

He's very polarizing. While his music early on was genius, he has devolved into a media nutcase. He started believing his own press and thinks he's some sort of deity. And, his antics tend to piss off all but his most devoted fans. Even Jaz Z wishes he'd grow up (probably has something to do with the tens of millions Kanye owes him though).

Never got the Kanye thing. Thought he was a talentless self promoter like the family he eventually married into.

Celebrity infatuation goes right over my head.

As for lil Wayne, don’t think I’ve got any of his music and I have pretty eclectic taste. Have to check him out.

In spite of Kanye’s assholish antics for the past 15 years, I really think a lot of you are underselling his influence on rap and pop culture at whole. This is the guy that killed gangster rap as we know it for gods sake. He made it ok to have emotions and introspection in mainstream rap - none of the modern greats would exist in their current form without it. I probably won’t pick up either of these albums (I’m all Kanye’d our from this surgical summer), but both Wayne and Kanye are icons.

Most people consider Wayne’s best work to be the mixtapes carter 1, 2, and 3. He’s a genius but I have to say I’m not huge on his music.

Not a hip hop fan but wouldn't say West is talentless. He's had a ton of hits and he maybe batsh!t crazy, but he became famous which is pretty impressive in itself.... lol every guy that married into the Kardashian family seems to have went off the deep end

Both of those guys have sold their souls to those who run that industry. I think Kanye West has either gone legitimately insane, or they keep him doped up and/or blackmailed. He was a great talent at one time. Wayne is just paid a truckload of money to be a bad influence. Never a talent.

Not my type of "talent" I guess. I'm not a fan of most pop music these days though... and FTR, I actually like some rap music.

He just comes off as a huge douche whenever he is in the spotlight. Just zero class with that guy. Makes it easy to hate him.

Early Kanye was pretty good, but it’s now hard to disassociate the media circus from the music....

Lil Wayne? Wow, I didn’t know he was still around.

That is not true. Go back to the golden era and you will find plenty of it. Kanye just changed the course back away from the gangster rap.

Unfortunately he has been given a pass for over a decade of this nonsense strictly because of his prior work. People like to hold on to the idea he will go back to 2004 kanye but those days are gone.
