Great thread Flavio

A good friend of mine still has record parties. We get together and spin tunes from our favourite vinyl.

Here's Supertramp from just last Friday night

I know.... :(

When there is an album that I am really interested in, I'll get it on CD and vinyl.

Doesn't happen often.

No. No. You got it wrong. I'm sorry but what I meant is that I will use a streaming service to know more about this one. The album looks great.

As it happens, I was digging in the back of a cabinet today and found this eclectic selection stuffed in the back. I thought I had all my vinyl in storage but here are a few more. Can't bear to toss all my vinyl from my youth.

It Seems my lat post killed the thread...

Hopefully this can resurrect it

I love Roberta Flack, and dug this NOS copy up from a warehouse find for my collection. Has to clean it 9 times to get it sounding OK, but once it got cleaned up it sounds divine.

The post above is of an aussie first pressing of Led Zepp

To all you vinyl LPs out there... i am your (metal) mother.

When a vinyl LP is made, a machine has two of these (one on each side) that 'stamps' the warm vinyl 'hockey puck' to form the final 'plastic' record. This is what presses / shapes the grooves on the hockey puck to produce your LP you have @ home. This is from my collection of bits and bobs here and am not at liberty to say what record this is due to a confidentiality agreement.

Same here, I have about 6,000 songs on my iPhone. I never listen to the radio anymore.

Current favorite is Jeff Lynne's ELO -- Wembley or Bust.

I keep only pristine copies of LPs now, unless finding a clean copy is impossible. Now that I've set up my two-channel system again, I'm enjoying my vinyl collection a lot.

Listening to Wes Montgomery today and this old thread came to mind. Let's see if anyone is still interested.

p.s. camera flash is part of the album cover.

Flavio, Wes Montgomery's brother Monk was one of if not the first bassists using the newly release Fender electric bass in the early 50's.

My submission is a shambles plug for my band's recent release Watertown.
