RG DD40 Olive or Bluesy 116613LB

So fun question, but which of the two would you rather wear? On one hand I feel like the Bluesy sunburst is iconic Rolex and has a lot of pop. The RG DD40 with the olive dial feels very special, and something about all gold, but is it as attractive?

Thoughts?

First , everyone’s going to vote DD...
Second if it was the PM Bluesy it’d more of
an even match...

In any case for me I’d always take a sub over a DD.
Sub Bluesy Rules at least for me ...

What RG DD Olive ???

I'm glad you said that, Mario...I was thinking the same.

So I'll just write this one in on the ballot.

So while this sounds odd, I have seen others agree, but I personally find the TT pops more with the contrast between the gold PCL and the SS. Budget not an issue, I had tried them on side by side and thought the Bluesy looked better and went that route.

While I think people in general think President is top, because, well, it’s the President, I’m curious price aside, forget about general consensus which is a better watch, what would YOU (TRF) want on your wrist. Which looks nicer, which sings to you more.

I have both and a solid Sub. Very different comparison. As stated before the solid gold Sub would be a much better comparison as the price of the DD40 RG is almost 3 times the price. I do love the look of a Sub for daily wear.

I’d still take the Bluesy...
But I’m a Bluesy die hard ...

It’s kinda hard to top this ... IMO.

Difference price points.

You can buy almost 3 Bluesy's for the price of one DD40.

To me...it's not close. The Day Date with the olive dial is a killer watch, I love mine to death.

For a fair comparison it would be the 116618LB and THAT would be a lot harder. Both stunning pieces.

Ya get what ya pay for ;). Jk, but those blues scream 90s imo which may work for some. With the $ saved you can grab a used red F Mondial to match it .

Got to be this if you don't want the full gold Bluesy. I actually bought my RG DD2 before the YG Subc, OK it was a matter of weeks but still.

Of the two and money was not an object I would always go with a DD in any metal or dial configuration. If the other watch was a YG Submariner with the Sunburst dial then it would be a more difficult choice.

-If you’re buying.....I’d ask first...what else do you have?
-If you’re comparing for “which one has the most POP/PRESENCE”.... then I’d say bluesy, as the RG is a toned down gold metal.
-Compare the YG sub or DD to the bluesy, and all YG wins out...IMO
-If you’re strictly looking for MOST pop or presence, I’d say compare YG VS YG.
