Does anyone else like the King Midas?

I like them a lot, but it is hard to find one in very good unpolished condition, if you find one at all.

Interesting to read about. Not for me, looks like the Piaget Polo was inspired from that model.

Why is the text on the dial not horizontally aligned?

Beautiful, 80's design.
The poor text alignment would irritate though. |

Very interesting and didn’t know it was designed by Genta

I’m not a fan of Genta designs but I would have snatched up John Wayne’s King Midas if I knew about it in 2011.

Hideous tacky watch. Fine for Elvis Presley in the 60s but not for anyone living in 2018.

It does remind me of the Pharaohs, Hittites and others of antiquity, altho strangely not the Greeks, Agamemnon wouldn't be caught dead with this watch lol, so it serves it's purpose, but not my style.

This. Plus how can they produce something so expensive and fit a dial with crooked writing? My OCD would freak whenever I checked the time

It's nearly as ugly as the Sky Dweller. <runs and ducks for cover>

I love my King Midas.... It houses a JLC ultra thin movement; was the first solid gold Rolex (made to compete with the solid gold Piaget Polo) and was the first Rolex with a saphire crystal. If you can find one with the Greek urn box... Buy it!

The King Midas is a very unapologetic watch. |
