GMT 16710 Weight
Been looking at the 16710 for a while now.
Finally had one on my wrist at the shop today. I find it somewhat light and looks small. Question is 1. Will I get used to it 2. Will adding a super jubilee make a difference? for information purpose, i own a 1999 daytona ss and a 116710 TT. used to own a 15710 but was too long ago that i can't remember how it feels. i like the 16710 over 16700 or sub because of it's function. so let's keep the discuss to 16710 weight if we could. thanks |

Just cannot see today why weight is regarded as being important with watches today and weight does not always equate to quality. So although the 16710 weighs in 127 grams its as tough and durable as many watches that weigh twice as much I can assure you, and the jubilee is a few grams lighter than the oyster bracelet.

from my perspective, the light weight of my 16710 is a huge plus for comfort. I would think that the super jubilee will add weight....and will look great also.

A super jubilee will be about the same weight as the Oyster bracelet. Will you get used to the weight? Only time will tell.

No, you will never get used to it..
The GMT is ~130 grams and the Daytona is only a few grams more at ~145: I doubt that you could actually feel that difference in use...

Despite loving heavier timepieces, I find GMT and Sub weights quite good.
And the functionality, yes, is what I really like a lot. Capt. Serdal

I own a sub which I think us about 135g and the gmt at 126g. You can tell the difference but both are am very comfy. The gmt is not to light at all.

Don't over think it.
Unless you are buying a 45mm watch or a Deep Sea, you will be fine. |

If you want something a little bigger/heftier but with the same essence and functionality, why not look at the 116710 ceramic GMT?

After wearing my Black Bay for a few weeks, I usually find my 16710 to be light and small for the first few days. I assure you though, it is the most comfortable watch I own - I certainly got used to it!

back from the dead this thread is! haha.
I felt the 16710 felt way too light for my liking when I first got it. I was wearing my 116610 all the time prior to and the weight difference bothered me. I did manage to get a 63600 Super Jubilee, and I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but it felt overall more substantial with the addition of the modern jubilee. |

When comparing a 5 and 6 series watch, I love the differences. I love the size and weight of both. Sometimes the lighter weight 5 is a nice change of pace. I'm wearing my 16700 now more then ever. It seems small compared to My DSSD but that doesn't make it less desirable. It all comes down to personal preference.

The 16710 is super comfortable! It took me a while to adjust to it, coming from a really weighty 50mm watch.
Is the 127 gram 16710 measurement with 12 links? 13? |

The fact that it is light is what makes it very comfortable and like every other thing you do continuously, you will get used to it.
