Greeting all-

Picked up a new 126660 DSSD D-Blue at my AD yesterday, and today I have noticed some squeaky sounds out of it when I move my arm rapidly or suddenly. Best way I can describe it is a squeaky wheel or that iconic "motel metal spring mattress" sound.

Is this normal? Should I take it back in and get looked at? I've heard of some folks soaking the bracelet in mineral oil - is that a fix? (is that even a thing?)

It should go away in time. Try giving it a bath with a little soap.

It’s the bracelet breaking in.

You’ll miss it in a couple of weeks

Oil will attract dirt, which will accelerate wear. Bad idea. The squeak will go away on its own in time.

I’m begging you...please do not wish the squeak to be gone, as I’m convinced it’s now the main reason for me having to buy a new Rolex!

Unfortunately it will resolve on it’s own and like new love, never return again...ya’ know...unless you get a hot new fresh one!

The new movement is known for its rotor noise, but not squeaking like a motel mattress. I think what he's hearing is from the bracelet.

I believe the noise he is referring to here is the well known squeak of a new Oyster Bracelet? Perhaps OP will clarify?

I purchased new DSSD previous model - didn't have any squeaky noise. Maybe noise introduced with new wider bracelet?

New Oyster bracelets are (in)famous for squeaking. Perhaps your was an anomaly.

It sounds more like a bracelet noise than it does a whirring/ball bearing type of noise (from the movement).

Bracelet makes sense to me. I’ll give it a few days or weeks and see if it gets better or worse.

my SD43 still squeeks. Been months...I guess need to wear more.

My 126660 did that as well, although at first I thought it was simply the sound an empty wallet makes :)

It went away if I wore it tighter, but now two months in and it's stopped entirely.

Enjoy, I have the Black dial, but it's one heck of watch in either variant and far more comfortable than I thought it would be, It's my daily now and probably will be for quite some time.

This. In my experience all new Rolex have a squeaky bracelet. It goes away pretty quickly so enjoy it while you can. I’m enjoying it right now on my 116500

A new Oyster Bracelet that does not squeak would definitely be the anomaly! Has nothing to do with the new wider bracelet!

I remember reading something like this before. I don't recall any squeak from my original D-Blue DSSD but then I did suffer a traumatic brain injury 16 months ago so the old noggin isn't what it used to be. At least all my watches seem brand new to me.

Congrats and wear it in good health! All four of the Oyster bracelets I’ve had squeaked a bit until they broke in. It’s normal and the squeak will disappear before you know it.
