BLNR vs SkyD Blue

Hello Friends!

I am a new member to the forum, but have owned Rolex for couple years and wanted some advice.

I am currently next on the list for a BLNR and next on a separate list for a SkyD Blue. I am debating whether to pick one model over the other or to just obtain both. I currently have a DJ41 and a Sub. I wanted the GMT function when traveling and both the BLNR and SkyD fit that criteria.

Im leaning towards getting the BLNR and saving up for a PM down the line, but the SkyD Blue is such a beautiful piece.

What would you guys do? Thank you!

SkyD is a far far superior watch than a BLNR. I wouldnt even think twice about it. Get the SkyD

I would buy both and flip the one you don’t want. BLNR is my first Rolex, but after acquiring LVc and black SkyD, it’s my least favorite now so it may eventually go.

Completely different watches. Try them on and buy what you like... skyD is a magnificent timepiece.

After having both the watches, I would go with the BLNR. SkyD is more of a dressy watch, plus it misses out on being a complete tool watch when it comes to BLNR. BLNR can show third time zone easily.
I am not a big fan of SkyD. Honestly was quite disappointed by it. But I'd say try the watches.

Blnr is not easy, but not that hard to find. Blue skydweller is near impossible.

Sky-D is too big and top heavy and I'm not a big BLNR fan but would pick a GMT-II which is iconic.

I have had a BLNR for 5 years.

Ordered a SkyD (black) which came in a couple of months back, but passed as it just felt too big and heavy for my personal taste when I tried it on at the AD.
They wear very differently, so you may need the try them on to decide.

As someone said above, get them both and shift the one you like least. Both highly sought after and easy to move on.

I have both SkyD and BLNR, SkyD is a lot bigger and too heavy compare to BLNR. You must have at least 7” wrist or larger to make it look proportional, SkyD more like a dress watch that you want people to notice. BLNR wear a lot easier on my wrist (6.5”) and a lot more comfortable. For me BLNR but if I have bigger wrist it would be very hard choice. SkyD has more complication and I enjoy setting the time, date and month.

Try them both on if possible before you have to decide. The sky D is a bigger watch.

Well you did knowingly set yourself up for this predicament when you put yourself on two different lists. Since you mentioned it as an option, get both. Then worry about what to do with them later.

I think your plan of getting the BLNR and later on adding a PM piece is as good as it sounds. You could add a PM SkyD fwiw.

Just follow your original plan to get the BLNR first.

BLNR is my obvious choice but that’s what suits my lifestyle. If you can afford both and have the opportunity, get them. Try them out and if you’re unhappy with either, sell it. It’s not a financial risk and you’ll end up with what you want. Good luck with your decision.

What s your wrist size?

The SkyD looks a bit large on <7" wrists.

The BLNR is a more balanced watch on the wrist. Try them both on and decide which feels better. Looks are subjective.
