How would you compare these to the Oman dial vintage pieces?

Unless you’re a Qatari, I don’t see why anyone would pay for this. There are royal Qatar and Oman versions of nearly every Rolex made from Subs to Day-Dates to GMTs, etc.

That dealer wouldn't have a Qatari Sub or Daytona instead?

I am getting one tomorrow! I am based in Qatar for now so I thought it is a good chance to have something to remember if I leave after a couple of years. I was in Oman before that and have read about the rare Omani dials, so it is good to grab one during my age and time!

Rolex stopped stamping logos on the dials in the 90s.......Tudor took over.
They are valuable on the long run. A 4digit DJ with an arabic logo/writing is double the price of the same watch with a normal dial.

It just says State OF Qatar in Arabic. Nothing special, these are ordered by Arab Gulf States to give as gifts to visitors or close people to the rulers. You have them on Rolex, VC, etc with names of all the Gulf States and Kingdoms. I wouldn't buy one at a high premium unless you like Arabic writing, because they are not popular. It gives an impression that a person was given the watch as a gift, or bought it at a cheap price from someone who was gifted one. These are not special editions, unless Harrods which is owned by Qatar convinced Rolex to make a special addition for Qatar on a Tudor. I would think that if the State of Qatar wanted to associate its name with a brand it would go with Rolex, provided Rolex would agree to do that as a special edition in the first place. I think there is a difference between special editions, and watches commissioned by countries and rulers with their logos to be given as gifts.

Ermm...
Few others I've seen. Royal engineers commando one (uk military) Royal protection service (UK police) I'd imagine there are more of the British military ones given the SBS, SAS etc Rolex Limited editions. That French special forces one, the Italian forum one, Harrods and Qatar. I would imagine there is more than this as well, 200 runs seem to be the minimum- ish. |

Mostly in Gulf states and the writing would be Arabic numbers on dial, I don't think states names go double price. Watches with logos are still being given as gifts from 6 countries in the Gulf to a lot of people. I have a VC with Khalifa the previous ruler of Qatar, and State Of Qatar as a logo. Are you willing to pay double price for it? I'm open for offers.

This black bay is Tudors FIRST EVER real limited edition, the rest are nice but just special orders for somebody or something
I have the Bucherer and Harrods But this chrono is imo MUCH more special than a little logo on a dial

https://watchesbysjx.com/2019/09/tud...d-edition.html "Tudor’s latest watch is major – beyond the watch itself – for it is the first publicly available limited edition in its 70-year history. In an industry where limited editions usually emphasise “edition” rather than “limited”, the Black Bay Chrono Dark is limited to just 1181 pieces at time of writing (though the number will creep up each year; more on that below)."
