Trade Vintage Gilt Rolex for 5712?

I have been considering selling my perfect gilt dial 1964 5513 for a Patek 5712. Has anyone made a similar trade? Curious of thoughts and opinions.

Have also considered trading my perfect gilt dial 1966 1675 for perhaps an Aquanaut Travel Time or 5524 - any thoughts there as well?

Just been seriously debating staying with vintage or expanding to timeless modern pieces.

I have not done any trades like that exactly....but I have recently sold a good amount of vintage Rolex collection due to just wanting to offload risk (not to mention redundancy). The market is way high right now and it makes me sweat back then knowing how many of these watches I own....so if you wanted to move it at a high in the market to go toward a watch (like the 5712) that wear more, I say good timing.

I am
completely out of vintage Rolex right now and made similar choices. Move on!

Absolutely NOT.
IMHO "perfect gilt dial 1964 5513" would be very hard to replace now and even harder in 5-10 years time.
5712 is "just" a current production model that's easily attainable albeit at a grey market price.

Keep the 5513!

I would be inclined to get the 5712 and 5164 while you're about it.

Count me in. I’d trade most anything for a 5712 :)
