Could have been great, but way too many negatives as other have pointed out.
I was really hoping they would have started with the Lexus RC F and made it better ... or at least a better looking (remove the Lexus-Predator-grill) and add a manual transmission. Slap on a big rear spoiler, CF roof, and change the badges and it's already way better than a rebadged Z4. |

This is more like an MR2 or celica coupe.
In terms of segment, the Supra was comparable to the GTR, NSX, killing M3s, EVOs, etc. Sad to see they are ruining a grail. The LFA is the true successor in my eyes. |

No thanks, hard pass for me. I'm sadden that that would use the name Supra for such an inferior vehicle.

Disheartening to see all this hate for this car.
Makes me want to buy one.

I’m a car guy. Before I bought the RRS, I had a X5 5.0. Love the range, but miss the bmw. I’m a big M car fan too. But I was in love with the Supra as a kid. This car has the DNA and the history imo. I also think it looks super (pun intended). Ironically, I dislike the bmw version of this car. Loved its predecessor in hard top tho.

The MKIV Supra TT has a special place in my heart. It was the first "nice" car I ever owned. I had a 93.5 Premier Edition twin turbo that was just a blast. A few bolt-ons later, car made 450hp which was not too shabby way back when. The 2JZGTE motor was just insane...I remember people were putting down over 1000hp back then on the stock block.

The 90s were the pinnacle of Japanese sports cars. The MKIV Supra, FD RX7, NSX, R34 Skyline GTR, 3000GT were all amazing cars. Even now, 25 years later, the designs have still held up and these are all (except maybe for the 3000GT) are collectors cars. Even "lesser" cars like the Integra Type R, S14/S15 Silvia and 300zx were awesome.
With the exception of the LFA, I cannot think of a single car from Japan in recent years that is as cool or will stand the test of time like the sports cars from the 90s. |

In my experience Toyota does not make sports cars.
Of course this is relative, I prefer many other auto makers.

Yep - not really worthy of the legacy.
Exactly. I'd be more inclined to buy the BMW Z4 Concept than the production version of this new "Supra" or the production Z4. Bummer because it was on the wifey's short list prior to release. She doesn't like it either. |

I love Toyota but I’m not too fond of the exterior design.

It's pricey, underpowered, the look is meh and to me doesn't really carry over from its predecessor.

The mark 4 was underpowered from the factory as well, yet all the cool guys found a way to get them up to 1000hp+ and destroy everything else at the dragstrip

Absolutely right except the LFA was ridiculously expensive. It was priced near the ‘hyper car’ territory.

The good old days. That turbocharged engine is a beast. But I seriously doubt you can get much extra out of this one.
