12 Hour Bezels

For me probably the most useful option available on a watch. With a 12 hour bezel you can track another timezone, calculate dive times [with unidirectional for safety], and have a simple timer available at a moments notice. It's a relatively easy and inexpensive option to add to a watch. No need for the 4th hand added to the movement. I'm suprised more brands don't offer it.
As many of you know I'm a self confessed bezel fiddler and use all the features the 12 hour bezel can offer.
So here's to the working bezel!

Work those bezels Dan. I bet 90% of all bezels are never used as intended.

Great pix, Dan. I heard back about the 12 hour inserts, all gone. Probably just as well after reading your post on what was involved in changing it.

Buz,
Probably true. I use mine all day everyday.

Al,
I heard they were all gone. And yes, taking a drill to a brand new watch is a little heart stopping. Luckily I took my time and all worked out well.

I have a yellow gold submariner with a blue face and bezel. Do you know where I can get a 12 hour blue bezel that would fit my watch?

Thanks
Agustus

I don't think there's one available for a Sub.

I don't think there's one available for a Sub. In fact, the only 12 hour bezel produced by Rolex was the rotating bezel on the Tudor 79170 chrono.

Very nice! I also believe 12hour bezels are the simplest, yet, most useful feature you could put on a watch. The hell with a 2nd hour hand, simply rotating a bezel is way more efficient and effective.
