I see 2 on a regular basis. Mine and a guy I work with has one. Other than that, I never see a Sub out in the wild.

I live in a very affluent area, but I drive to work everyday, so I don’t exactly have an opportunity to spot watches from my car while commuting.

However, I do spot a lot of DateJusts around here in restaurants and when I’m shopping with the wife.

I’ve only seen one 116610LN on an older gentleman at a bar in a very affluent area and a 14060 on a coworker who had it for years as his only watch. I think their popularity is overstated. I certainly doubt most of the “Submariners” members report seing in Asia are genuine. In any case their popularity doesn’t affect my desire to own one.

Definitely have to agree. I see Subs everyday on both women and men of all ages. Quite a few of my neighbors have multiple Rolex and at least one of them's a Sub. It's not surprising, though. In some recent years, the Swiss Franc value of Swiss watches exported to Hong Kong exceeded that of both U.S.A. and mainland China combined.....and then there's the grey market!

Funny, I see more Pepsi GMTs (5 digit) than Subs in Munich, Germany. In the past weeks, I recognized only 2 watches, both whiteface Daytona Ceramics had to look twice. These beautiful watches look kind of cheap watches from a distance, I think.

I saw one at work this week; it turns out it was a $100 Chinese k/o. When I was told I just bit my tongue. Damned k/os. I felt like saying, good luck; try swimming with that pos.

It is the most iconic Rolex watch and the most replicated, no surprise

I rarely see Rolex in the wild where I live, except one time when I went to an engagement party for one of my wife’s friends. The crowd was pretty affluent for my medium sized town. Most of the ladies had either a two-toned DJ or a DD while a lot of the guys had either a SS sports model of some kind or a DD. Noticed one Patek as well.

Less subs than M3’s out there yet everyone still wants and owns the bmw. Not sure why people here get turned off by “everyone has a sub”

They’re two different discussions, in my opinion. Are Subs very common, maybe the most common mid-range watch? I think so.

Does that mean they’re undesirable because “everyone has one,” nope - not to me.

How often to do you actually see a Submariner on someone’s wrist ?

Literally everywhere. Airports are the worst. I had a Black SubC, but sold it as i got tired of seeing it everywhere. Got the TT Bluesy, which was more rare. Eventually just ponied up to the all Gold Bluesy and got rid of the TT. Now I’m happy. I rarely see that out in the open.

Last one I think I saw was up by lake Minnetonka a few years ago. Did spot a coworker with what I believe to be a 2 tone yachtmaster with a champagne color dial last week.

I think the word "everywhere" is misleading. When any of my friends ask me for helping buying their first and possibly only Rolex, I almost always suggest the Submariner. Not only does the watch have an amazing history, it's handsome, dependable, and in modern iterations, the solid link bracelet with glidelock is hard to beat. Because the watch has everything, it's just a smart buy and as a result, if you're a collector or smart with your watch money, you'll have a sub in your collection.

I agree, the white dial Daytona with ceramic bezel looks cheap to me.

The most faked watch on the planet. Of course they're everywhere. Most of them are China Made. There's the problem.

It’s amazing to be able to go for a run without bringing the phone; or on my road bike.

Many of you are challenged by science and statistics. Either that or you don't know what the word everywhere means.

Oh, and one other thing, everyone in Hong Kong and New York do NOT have a Submariner. Less than 1% of the HK and NYC populations have a Submariner. So please stop with the crazy, ridiculous statements.

Airports, resorts/ritzy hotels, car events etc. that I frequently attend have hoards of watches, and most of them can be comprised of steel Rolexes and specifically Subs and GMTs. A fair amount of Daytonas too (non ceramic usually). What's interesting is I saw more Yachtmaster II's last trip than anything else I think. Spotted a couple AP's. I wouldn't say subs are "Everywhere" but in the right areas, they're definitely not rare. Most of them are 5 digits though, like out of 100 subs I see, 90 of them are old ones.

That’s better. Definitely not everywhere, but in the right areas, you see a lot.

Totally depends on where you live. If you live in a large metropolitan city and work in the financial/legal district, I would bet you see more. Whenever I see a Rolex, it’s almost always a Submariner.
