What is the best model for an Oysterdate?
I think I'll be picking up an oysterdate some day. Right now, I'm leaning towards a birth year 1980, with a linen dial. White linen or possibly a blue mosaic dial in a 36mm size.
I'm wondering if in 1980, oysterdates were in their prime? What are the best years for these watches? I'd like to have an idea of the most desirable datejust so when I see the right one, I'll be ready to pull the trigger. Thank you! |

can't go wrong with a datejust in your year range and any differences between versions will be minor. condition should be your main focus. |

You need a Datejust for chosen size and your dial choice

There is no clear consensus about the most desirable DJ reference. It is a matter of taste and preference, since there were subtle changes in the hands, dial, and movement over time. Do you like a pie-pan dial or a flat dial? What type of hands? Do you need a quick-set date feature? Research is in order.
