Way to stand your ground on that one! The ADs have become completely ridiculous. Congrats on the Daytona, you seem like a very patient man!

Congrats! Its so coincidence AD "received" the watch magically the next day.

Yes, I saved for this one also - got looks when pulling that amount from the bank but I said it was for something else

It would be nice, but I have always wanted a white dial watch and this one checks all the boxes, so it will be a keeper! In December 2016, I passed on a BNIB 116520 white dial from an AD - kicking myself for that ever since.

The AD did receive one in January 2019, and this one in April, it could have been the right timing possibly

Thanks again to all for their kind words!!

Congrats on getting the watch. But i am sad to hear about all the fuss u have to go through, it take away some of the enjoyment of actually getting the watch. Bad practice for the AD and Rolex is also to be blame

Congrats on your persistence. My biggest take on this was you passing on the knowledge that YES dealers regularly receive allocation pieces, numbers depending mostly on their overall sales. Any dealer that tells you they haven't received a Daytona/BLRO, etc is lying or about to lose their franchise. I'm not so naive to believe that my dealer's lists are strictly chronological, but I know and they tell they are steadily working their way down it.

Congrats, and way to stand your ground. I don’t like the games that some of the ADs are playing these days.

Congrats! I am glad it works out for you.

It has to be magic when you said you want to pull your deposit and they receive a white daytona the next day ... LOL

Congrats! I wish I had your patience both in waiting for the watch and dealing with the AD antics. Great you pushed back on them trying to force another purchase on you. Many would have folded.

I'm happy to hear you stood your ground. I really don't like what I'm hearing out of AD salespeople's mouths lately and it's not shocking at all that she tried you squeeze you. She should be apologizing and ashamed of herself.

Glad you got your watch, that's the exact one I've been angling for with no such luck. I've been offered many pieces locally, one in particular I may jump on, but it's no ceramic Daytona.

I was told that even though I'm on the VIP list and I get offered watches constantly, the Daytona is reserved for people that spend the most. I laughed and said, "sounds like I'm going to need to find another AD to work with then!" and now she's trying to play nice.

It shouldn't take that, and I think you can agree. This isn't good practice.

How could you put up with that utter nonsense? Look, I'm delighted you have your beloved timepiece, but there's no way I would have countenanced such blatant unprofessionalism. Plus, you had to eat the cost of airline travel? Unreal. It's just a watch.

Congrats, you deserve it and wear it in good health.

I am definitely no where near a VIP at this AD (my previous purchase was a BLNR and bracelets) and this applies to my hometown one as well. I guess my persistence and firmness played a part. My SA did try to do her best (even though at time she was pulling me along) but I cannot blame her, it was the owner of the AD that wanted to play the games; she was just a pawn. So again not her fault, as this is her place of employment and nowadays, whatever the owner says is what employees IMO have to pass along. But I agree, it wasn't a good practice.

I agree it was unprofessional by the AD and I was about to give up (of course after three plus years) and enjoy what I already own, but I was going to give it until the end of the year (I'm very patient )

The cost of travel was not that bad, as I used points which were going to expire ironically today; so the stars aligned and it worked out.

Thank you for your kind words though!!

Please name the AD, they could lose their franchise if Rolex SA sees you retained stickers and bezel protector. That would be a laugh!
