Can anyone tell me what year the Daytons SS used the ‘double Rolex’ clasp? Picture is below. It is my father’s watch that he acquired many years ago and I’m trying to identify the year. Removing the bracelet to view the serial number is not really an option at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

Very interesting ad in the 80s.

Back then, Daytonas are not well liked and retailers don't even what them.
How times have changed.

Fast forward to today, people will bundle and pay well over MSRP for them.

Joined the club yesterday. Didn't want to pay over retail for the 116500 so I put the money towards an older 116515LN which I love anyhow. Brought the thing home and then my wife asked me to resize it for her wrist....sigh....

So does that make her part of the club or me?.....hmm....

Been thinking to get this one below as my first Daytona.
Rsp is lower than any SS Daytona and is relatively « easy » to find it from an AD where I live (HK).
Anyone here who has this model? Any feedback? Getting scratched easily I would presume.

This is my latest buy. I considered the watch for about 6 months before buying. I love it and my wife loves it on me. I believe it is visually striking and has a lot of wrist presence; it really pops. It is my only TT and I tend to wear it with business clothes much more than casual clothes, as I feel it fits that role much better. For me, it’s on the dressier side of watches. Mine is not particularly scratched nor is it a scratch magnet, but I tend to wear it and my other watches carefully. Good luck with your decision.

I’ve been wondering...why do some Daytona’s have gold watch hands while others have gold watch hands with a black stripe through them. Not sure if it’s indicative of something or design changes.

I had a WG daytona with the racing dial and wore it for a year. Sold it and was finally able to pick up the SS this Monday!

This is a 116518LN on oysterflex. I'm actually still not sure how I feel about it. I was hoping to score a GMT, but obviously that was overly optimistic.
