Is the blue dial SS Skydweller the most common?
I know the blue dial SS skydweller is the most difficult to get from AD and has the highest price on the grey market.
But looking at the TRF official skydwellers owners thread there is much more of the blue dial then the white and black in SS. Is it possible that the white and black are just sitting at the AD and greys and the blue dial is actually the most sold of the 3 color available? Or are the blue dial owners just more active here on the forum? Which SS skydweller do you own? |

I think the Blue owners might be more active on this forum. I own the white dial and have yet to post a pic.

Interesting observation. I guess you tend to see a lot of so called rare pieces here on the forum, as we represent just a tiny fraction of watch buyers. |

The blue one is twice as common in my neck of the woods. Whereas my AD is allocated only one SS white and one SS black in 2019, they have been allocated a whole two blue SS models. It's enough to make you feel giddy! What are they going to do with all that stock?
No SS Sky Dwellers of any dial colour "just sit around" at my AD. If they did, I would own a SS black one by now, as opposed to not even getting on a list. |

I was originally thinking of getting blue but the white dial is really growing on me. Kind of wish they did an ivory dial like the white gold Sky Dweller with romans. That was a sexy dial!

I don't believe that any of the SS Sky-Dwellers are common but IMO members on the forum who actually have a blue dial are very excited about it and tend to post about them more often.

I'm going to get one, just haven't decided on black dial or blue dial. My AD haven't got any in stock so it's difficult to decide without seeing one live. The blue sure is beautiful in the pictures but would love to see more pictures of the black dial by the forum members |

I think it is all about " Active Blue SS Skyd" owners ...
Ofcourse Blue is more RARE then Black and White ... The thing is if you carefully check the "incoming" posts , you can see that nearly 1 out of 3 is a Ceramic SS Daytona ... You can get crazy and asked yourself "Are you the only one which can not find/buy the SS Daytona C or Blue SkyD in MSRP ? " but in reality NO , you are not the only one.. Hundreds of people waiting to buy them from their AD... But there are many active owners here in the forum... |

I think a couple of reasons (1) not everyone is active in posting pics, and there are actually a few posts with white/black dials (2) blue has the most hype and gives people the opportunity to show off their awesome collection

No one can really say if the Blue SS Sky Dweller is common or rare. But it can be confidently said that this is the most desired; and attainability is similar to the SS Daytona C. Depending on Region results may vary a bit.

I just found it interesting that there are so many pics of the blue and few of the white and black. It's also interesting that the blue dial is more common on the for sale section then the others To me it looks like the blue is not at all more scarce then the black and white It's in higher demand for sure, I can understand that as it's beautiful, but I also think that hype and heard behavior play a role Would love to see more pictures from the owners of the black skydweller to help me decide on the black or blue. Unfortunately I don't have the option to see it live at my AD as he dosn't have any in stock but has told me he can get me any one that I like within a year |

I understand this.
At the beginning I like more black because I see it more classic but after I see blue I like it more blue because it’s a blue on the flash light and in the slow light are more black. You must see all and then decide. I like the movement and the complications then I like the color of the dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Since inception we've received 3 blue dial SkyDwellers, 1 white, and 0 black. But this is partially due to sold orders. The white was a stock unit, all 3 blue were sold orders. Black has been on stock backorder since launch.

Blue dial SkyD become more desirable due to internet hype around it. Personnally I always preferred the black face, so I got it one year ago and would never exchange it with any other color ... |

I picked up the white dial out in Paris last month. They had a couple of options.

I think if one was to use TRF as a bellwether it would be easy to think that the most common references are ceramic Daytonas, LVcs and BLNR/BLROs, Sky and Sea Dwellers, etc. Sub and GMT LNs would be very rare. And OPs would be super rare. This is because the average poster with a high post count seems likely to post only the harder to get pieces, and it is mostly (mostly) very new posters who will excitedly post pictures of a Date Just or OP. This makes it seem like certain rarer references are actually common, when they are not. |
