Lange 1 strap ideas
I want to dress down my Darth, any pics with ideas?
The croc is very dressy. And this looks better than I expected, but it’s not what I had in mind. I was thinking something in leather, a thicker strap with contrast stitching maybe.

Try a dark suede or nubuck strap. It should make it feel more casual. I’ll see if I can find a pic.

Something like this would look pretty sweet.

I’m not sure I can see that watch on a different strap color other than black. I liked the blue posited above at first, but I think it would not quite work in the end.
I think you have to go with a different material to get a more casual vibe. Black stingray can have a metallic sheen to it that could dress it down. Maybe with a bright white contrast stitch? Or you could go with a red or blue stitch if you really have a color preference. Another option is distressed ostrich. Maybe in grey? Combat Straps does a great grey distressed ostrich. Still with contrast stitch probably. He also does good looking black stingray. Search for him on google or Instagram if you haven’t already. Good luck. |

Have a look at @horosd on Instagram.
He has a black dial Lange 1 MP on a weathered black nubuck and it looks great in my opinion. Quite a few pics of it if you scroll through his page. |

I don't know where you're based, but Jean Rousseau and Camille Fournet have stores dotted around where you can either look at the leathers, or in the case of Rousseau, choose the actual hide, and the actual portion, that will become your strap. They do ostrich, croc, snake, lizard, stingray as well as patent, suede, and some very cool distressed hides.
I hated the original strap on my Lange 1. It was amazing quality (never did get an answer as to who manufacturers them for Lange), but was just so dour and serious. I chose a light blue croc that mimics the moonphase during the day, and I now wear the dress much more happily, and more often, with everything from jeans to a suit. For what it's worth, I think yours would look amazing on a red strap. So yeah... Jean Rousseau - Piccadilly Arcade if you're in London. |
