Preferred markers for a DD40.

Imagine you’re lucky enough to be buying a YG DD40 with a Champagne dial..

Would you go for Baton, Roman or Reduced Roman markets?

Always been favoring sticks, but starting to see why romans is a nice touch as well

Same here. Didn’t used to like Romans but they’ve grown on me a lot in the last year or so. The reduced Roman strikes a good balance - not too cluttered.

Was really wondering if a classic DD should be sticks?

For a DD, especially if were talking champagne dial, I would go with sticks - a classic

I'd go sticks. I like the Romans a lot but feel they date the watch a bit as they change the style of them over the years.

Romans for the EASY win. Different color dial than what you're looking for, but I love my DD40 with Romans.

Sticks; first they have lume...which helps in poor lighting. Then they give an uncluttered look to the dial. The Roman figures crowd the dial and have no lume.

Sticks. I prefer lume on a DD. Makes it more useful.

I’ve been going back and forth about this even though I won’t be in the market for a dd40 anytime soon. I love the batons but the deconstructed romans are so unique to the dd40. Good thing I’m not buying one anytime soon lol.

The way the light hits the romans is nice. Each roman is beveled so there is always a subtle pop when the light catches it.

Sticks.

However, I admit to an overall prejudice against Romans. No one wearing a Rolex needs numbers nor markers to tell the time (e.g. onyx dial DD). Romans feel affected to me, like a grandfather clock leftover habit that’s way past its ... time.

That’s a beauty and I agree, on that dial the deconstructed romans look best.

There’s something just a little more visually interesting to me about the Roman markers, as they sort of float on the dial. I could care less about lume markers on a DD.

To be honest I like both.

The romans shine like crazy when the lights hit them at the right angle, but in saying that I missed the lume of the batons. To solve that I just bought 2 DD40s :)

Prefer Romans on DayDates just because it is a special watch. Sticks make me think of Datejusts.

Love that they use the IIII 4, looks so nice!
