Rolex section at the Rolling Stones
People always talk about their Rolex spots in the wild and I’m usually coming up short unless it’s at an event of some sorts.
Last night I attended the Rolling Stones concert at Houston’s NRG Stadium along with 72000 of my closest friends. My seats were on “club” level 3 which has a few amenities not seen on all levels. Before the show we were wolfing down a quick extortionately priced meal at a stand up communal table. Across from me a guy had on a 5 digit tutone black Submariner, his wife had a jewel encrusted tutone Datejust. Next to them was another woman with Datejust. Next to me was a guy wearing a very pristine Kermit. Before we were done yet another lady with bejewelled DJ joined the end of the table. Counting my BLRO there were five Rolex amongst the seven of at the table, no one said a word. As I watched people streaming around us literally a third or more were sporting a Rolex, most of them the trademark Texas Timex as in tutone DJ or yellow gold DD, the only sport models I saw were the ones already mentioned. |

I don't think it would have been too rude to say something. What a shame though, I'm sure a nice Rolex conversation would have given you some satisfaction. Hey, any way you look at it, be grateful you got tickets to a concert that was all sold out. Sounds like good times.

I was kind of surprised that none of the band members were wearing watches although Keith Richards had his trademark dangly bracelets and earings. BTW for anyone wondering the show was awesome. Mick Jagger runs around like a man 50 years his junior even with his recent heart procedure and the band really looks like they’re enjoying what they do. I hadn’t seen them since the early 90’s and I’m very glad I went.
