White Dial - Daytona 116500 buy now?

Have an opportunity to purchase this watch right now, NEW, and for below current market price.

This is the only Rolex reference that remains on my radar. It will complete my Rolex collection until something else comes along or creeps into my mind.

Really did not want to pay over retail but if I don't pull the trigger now, I will never be able to buy for retail with the current state of affairs. I do not have those kinds of relationships with ADs because I've purchased mostly from DavidSW.

Have heard from reputable people that the SS Daytona will continue to resell at this price point.

Gonna sleep on it and make a decision in the AM.

Um....buy it. Then go to sleep. You'll sleep like a baby, then wake up with a beast watch.

How much is the distraction costing you? Assuming you could make back the premium with a weeks worth of work...then just get rid of the distraction by enjoying the white Daytona now.

FWIW, I think it's interesting how much inventory is accumulating at Grays at these current prices and I think it will be interesting to see if that inventory clears up or not after the summer lull ends. I have to think the gray bid prices for things like the 116519LN are getting worse and more and more new inventory comes onto the market. I can't imagine it's easy to move inventory at these current prices. I mean the current this or that thread should really start reading this gray watch or a new car!

I would take it! Im currently thinking about trying to acquire a black 18k yellow gold Daytona. From my understanding the Daytona market is fairly stable. Pull the trigger my friend! Enjoy.

BUY IT!

1. "This is the ONLY Rolex reference that remains on my radar."
2. The watch will always be desired by someone (trade, sell, etc)
3. Live for today, not tomorrow.

Only if you're going to actively wear it.

Who cares if you're getting it below market/above retail if it's just going to sit in a safe. Or even worse, be flipped for a profit at someone else's expense.

IMO, there's quite a bit of overlap in your collection as it stands now anyway (2 DD, 2 GMT, everything is an Oyster case)... I'd pass and diversify a little.

No brainer, if you regret later down the road you'll make your money back and then some. But I suppose if you don't want it and this is not a financial decision then you could pass the opportunity to someone else.
I love mine and I think it would be a great addition to your collection.

I don’t doubt you’ve got some hardware... it’s the point of the post - of course you should buy the watch. A forum full of Rolex fans and you get to buy the most desirable watch below market... of course you should buy lol

Think you should get it but no idea why you would ever strap anything to your wrist other than the 3 to the right (especially the platty )

You already got a YG Daytona.

Why would you pay ludacris prices for this SS piece is beyond me. Rather buy the 116519LN if your going to drop this money.

I think OP point is that below market is still well above retail (MSRP), so hard pill to swallow. Not sure your point, but I get the OPs point.
