So I just received my 1996 T-serial Explorer ii, and on the caseback is what seems to be a Rolex sticker that protects the caseback from getting scratched. Not sure if it's original, but it certainly is years old as it seems to have some sort of stain underneath that seems super old (it might be discoloration of the old adhesive). I want to take it off and get it cleaned, does anyone know what this sticker is and how I can remove/clean it without damaging the caseback?

The sticker has the Rolex logo and model number "16570" embossed(?) on it, which is why I'm assuming it might be the original sticker.

acetone, fingernail polish remover, goo gone, etc.

You should leave it on to match the sticker on your sunglasses.

Gently warm with a hair dryer, this will soften the dry glue making easier to peal off,

I used nail polish remover on mine immediately after purchase in 95. Hated it from the moment of trying the watch on. Wore it a few hours and my wrist was bright red and itchy, so removed it. Watch been fine ever since.

Probably too late, but maybe warm the sticker as mentioned, scrape with a plastic scraper and then remove the glue with some Goo Gone?

I would heat a bit the thing, and use goo gone to remove the glue...
