Yacht-Master 126622 Blue Dial
Is the YM 126622 Blue Dial considered a potential collectible, or desirable piece. Looking to purchase a stainless “sport watch”, and don’t seem to see/read much about this particular watch...compared to GMT’s and Subs. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Cheers

If that's your question, think of the Daytona. It was unloved at first. As of now buy it if you like it. I think it's the most elegant of all references of Rolex.

Agree about the desirable part. The question was more so referring to, if I was going to buy ONE Rolex...as opposed to having multiple luxury watches or a “collection”, then would like it to be one that holds value over time. Haven’t heard much about this particular model...and because the Sub and GMT are very difficult to get via AD...was just considering this watch. This forum seems to have knowledge contributors...so was looking for opinions

Appreciate the feedback. I’ve been reading that the platinum bezel is more susceptible to scratches etc. All watches will get banged around...but anyone know or have thoughts on durability of this particular bezel? Bezel seems to get the most criticism pertaining to this particular piece.

YM has historically not hold resell value in the secondary market. The fact it’s been desirable because of different dial color seems a little trivial to me. Could the blue YM suddenly loose popularity tomorrow? Wouldn’t surprise me the least. If you want a watch that can hold resell value maybe look for a good condition sub, gmt, Daytona in the used market. Buy right and get the best condition you are able to find has been the best advise I have received about collecting. Good luck to your search...

It seems anything with a blue dial has become more desirable. Getem while you can.

I would love to see the 126622, but haven't seen anybody with one yet. Also be good to see a 116622 126622 side-by-side comparison. The curved sexy lines of the first 6 digit generation are lovely.
