Walking around Chinatown NYC

Window shopping around Canal and Elizabeth this afternoon. Saw a few hard to find pieces, two LV subs, CHNR + BLRO GMT's, even a white Daytona. Asked about the Hulk and the Daytona - $16,660 for the Hulk and I complemented her on setting a new record. The Daytona was simply quoted as $20,000 duo 多, which means more than 20 but less than 25. She was pushing Swiss gold bars hard for some reason. Next shop was across the street, they had a couple of DJ's in the window and a hulk. I played a bit dumb and simply asked about "the green one" in the window, salesperson didn't even look up and quoted $18,000. Notes: all of these are new in box, papers, cards, full sets.

Big prices but I feel the hulk will stay strong until March as it’s rumoured to be discontinued with new sub line

Shanghai soup dumplings at 100 Mott St. Best deal in Chinatown!

Then walk two blocks to Ferrara in Little Italy for cannolis.
“Leave the Rolex, take the cannolis.”

Last edited by BigAppleBill; 27 August 2019 at 07:52 AM.. Reason: Added cannolis

There's actually quite a few legit mom and pop jewelry stores along Canal St, many of them will have a few used Rolex for sale.
And of course there are the hawkers on the corner with the "other ones."

People are going to extremes to find a rolex. Getting interesting.

To avoid any confusion, I live a couple of blocks west of Chinatown and speak Mandarin (not the language of choice in Chinatown, but still serviceable). In the last 18 months, Canal street has really changed. Sure there are still spots for fake bags and individual hawkers with laminated cards for the tourists, but I am on Canal and Elizabeth weekly and as others mentioned, there are some mom and pop shops that are the respectable (if aggressive with their pricing)! Of course they negotiate, but throwing out a price like 18 grand for a Hulk takes chutzpah!
