the Rolex that will always be with me

I have several Rolex in my collection, modern and vintage, but the most special of all is this Datejust, it was the first Rolex that I bought, it was in 1989, and it has accompanied me on several special occasions, among them, the day of my wedding.

It is a Datejust model 16220, of the L series, when I bought it the dial was white, over the years it has taken on a very beautiful cream color. He has the bezel "engine turned" in these 30 years has never been a service, and works perfectly, is +1. I will always have it with me, although I wear it little, but it's my sentimental grail.

Rolex 16220

the first three or four years was my daily watch, then more watches arrived and the Datejust put less time on me. I watch the watches very well, almost like my daughters, and I always keep everything that comes with the watch, it's part of it.

That’s great! I like how the dial turned cream after all those years.

Nice story & that creamy dial looks superb. Very nice contrast against the pure white date wheel too.

Fantastic and looks to be in a great shape. The history and the ability to tie a watch to a special point in ones life, is something that I really like about this addiction (hobby)

Would probably remove the caseback sticker though

Nice watch, love the wedding photos. So which daughter has started to eye this family heirloom?

Such a nice post, and illustrative of how watches do become a sentimental part of our lives. Yes, watches keep track of time; however, they are also a part of the important times of our lives too.

At the moment my daughters look at my collection with good eyes, but they are not very watch lovers, I hope someday ...

Looks brand new! You have some crazy OCD to keep the back sticker on that long, not to mention the full set! I honestly have never been much of a Datajust or Daydate fan but I have to say, even though I needlessly qualified my statement, that is a damn fine looking watch! Special moments certainly enhance the value, regardless of actual value. Love the pics, thanks for sharing.
