Icon9 Not happy with Rolex Service Dallas

Selected to go with Rolex to service my datejust since I am just not comfortable to hand over my watch to anyone in my area. Communication to Rolex was wonderful and the ladies I talked to were professional until I had a problem. The watch came back serviced and refinished on time, 4 weeks. The issue is the top edge of the bezel where it meets the crystal is all roughed up. And its consistently all around that edge. Really shows up when the light hits it and sticks out so bad. The surface of the bezel is fine.

Can't believe Rolex released it to me that way, what happened to quality control lol. I called back and they just want me to ship it back. Not cool, now I have to pay another shipping cost on top of what I paid for which should have never been an issue in the first place.

I am including pictures, hard to see.

Any thoughts what may have caused this? The edge is difficult for anyone to damage by normal wear. The crystal sits high above this area which kind of protects this bezel edge.

* Sorry, I have now uploaded larger photos. The first two show better at 10 and 12 o'clock.

Well, those are super hard to see, they're thumbnail sized and don't enlarge!

Your pics are itty bitty… I'm guessing 20 pixels across?

Nobody on the forums will be able to help you. Send it back as requested. Give them the opportunity to address it before dumping on the internet. Chances are if they are at fault, they will reimburse your shipping charges.

All comments not withstanding, return with correspondence expressing dissatisfaction.

For older vintage Rolex valuable references-remember that Phillip Ridley is
in Arlington, TEXAS-be mindful that RSC mindset may replace your original dial & hands.

My 50 yr old 1680 red Submariner was virginal-never opened by an RSC-but serviced
regularly.

I know what the OP is talking about, the edge of the bezel that meets the crystal is roughed up. I can see it with these 1050 × 788 images lol (sorry we are image snobs here). I cant believe Rolex signed off on this....pretty much right in your face. I would ask Rolex to pay for your shipping cost, a billion dollar company can eat $30-40.

Rolex will not just replace the hands and dial without first providing you with an estimate you have to approve. They don’t return watches with a surprise new dial free of charge.

If you don't approve the estimate allowing then to replace the hands and face they won't service your watch, and they keep your original parts, they will not return then to you. Doing business with Rolex is either their way or the highway.

Update

I have to pay for a new bezel. It seems like they are not seeing the issue and or are missing the communication. I am done with this and just going to pay for it. Thanks a lot Rolex, next time I will go with an independent recommended on the forum here.

With all due respect to Rolex, USA-the Dallas RSC has a relatively consistent
pattern of substandard service. Not every watch serviced, of course.
But often enough so that I will not consider them for my own Rolex service.
Considering initial watch cost, maintenance, and service requirements-Rolex
should seek to improve the RSC experience with their clientele.

Some watch owners are now concerned that with parts accounts being restricted,
an indirect pressure is being applied across the board on service options.
This will really affect owners of the newest Rolex references.

Vintage watch owners might consider the highly trained independent CW-21s
that are near Los Angeles, Arlington, TX. and Seminole, FL.

Did they say that your current (Im assuming stock) bezel is the case for the crystal chipping? and that's why they are charging you for a replacement? If so, isn't this something that they should have recommended to begin with?

What could be the issue?

Maybe since Rolex has tried to corral all of the Service they can’t handle the load and are sending out hoping folks don’t complain?

I don’t know what’s up with them. We all would like to know our wishes will be followed and happiness will be forthcoming
